New research suggests that GLP-1 medications may do more than support weight loss and blood sugar management. They may also help reduce alcohol cravings by affecting the brain's reward system.

Studies in animals, real-world data, and early clinical trials have shown promising results, though GLP-1 medications are not yet a standard treatment for Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD).

As research continues to evolve, these medications may become an important tool in supporting recovery for some individuals.

Talk to your doctor to learn more about whether GLP-1 medications may be right for you.
