Congratulations to the class of 2026 scholarship recipients! It was an amazing evening! There were tears of gratitude, lots of smiles, and after the conclusion of the event, a young lady remarked “this is life-changing for me!” This is definitely the “why!”

The New Baltimore Historical Society is saddened to learn of the passing of Mary Ann Bayer.

Mary Ann was a past president and board member of the New Baltimore Historical Society, and her energy, generosity, and commitment helped strengthen our organization and the Grand Pacific House Museum. She worked tirelessly on behalf of the museum and the community, and her impact will be remembered by all who care about preserving New Baltimore’s history.

Among the many ways she served, Mary Ann helped create meaningful programs that connected local children and families with the museum, including the “Summer’s Not Boring” program remembered by many in our community.

Mary Ann gave her time not only to the Historical Society, but to New Baltimore as a whole. She was known for stepping forward, bringing people together, and helping make things happen. Her legacy lives on in the organizations, traditions, and community spirit she helped build.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Mary Ann’s family and friends.

Rest in peace, Mary Ann. You will be remembered with gratitude.
