Too often there are people in our society that are left out- sort of forgotten about. I'm not talking about welfare and social programs that don't give opportunities. There are people in our society who want to work hard and belong to something bigger than them. Unfortunately, there are not a ton of opportunities that are fulfilling as our society has moved away from face to face relationships and
toward cyber relationships. We look to give individuals a place where they feel like family and we want to build them up. We crave to be a sort of sanctuary, not just for our volunteers but also for the community.
-We will offer CSA shares of delicious, locally grown organic produce, fresh organic eggs, honey and more.
-We will offer trips to our farm and family friendly events.
-We will have a tribute to all veterans.
-We will have a bus, to pick up people that don't have transportation to come work on the farm for food and deliver to the elderly who are homebound. We will pick up the elderly and bring them to the farm to get food- give them opportunities that they don't always get- to just get out in the fresh air and be part of a bigger community.
-We will accept SNAP/food stamps, so people have access to truly nutritious food.
-We will have greenhouses and grow year 'round with aquaponics.
-We will have sponsorship boxes, where people can pay for a box for a family in need (sort of a living food pantry.)
-We will seek to be a place where people can come together and demonstrate the ultimate love- loving your neighbor as yourself.
-We will have passionate people. RON is more than just reaching our neighbors... Ron was my father. He was a Vietnam Vet. He unfortunately turned to alcohol to cope with his emotions and nightmares that he would have when he returned. The alcohol is what ultimately killed my father (through enlarging his heart) and left a little hole in my heart. My dad was very generous and giving and, not only did I want to start the farm to help people, as my dad would do, but also to honor his big heart.
