The Kiwanis Club would like to thank Chris Brown, Northern District Commissioner for the Mississippi Public Service Commission, for joining us last week as our guest speaker!

Commissioner Brown shared valuable insight on the benefits of nuclear and natural gas energy, as well as their important work and assistance provided during the January ice storm. We appreciate him taking the time to speak with our club and for his service to North Mississippi and the state of Mississippi!

Thank you to Keith Conlee, President of the Dean Provence Endowment for Excellence in Education, for joining the Kiwanis Club this past week and speaking to us about the endowment!

We enjoyed learning more about the impact the fund has had on the New Albany School District and the many ways it has helped provide opportunities, resources, and support for our students, teachers, and schools. We appreciate Keith’s time and his continued commitment to excellence in education in our community!

The Kiwanis Club would like to thank Mike Bennett, Union County Veterans Service Officer, for coming to speak to our club about his time serving in the Vietnam War. We appreciate him sharing his experiences and perspective with us. We also want to extend our sincere gratitude to Mike and to all veterans for their service, sacrifice, and dedication to our country. God bless our veterans! 🇺🇸

We appreciate New Albany’s Main Street Director Billye Jean Stroud for coming to speak to the club last week, where she shared updates on the latest New Albany and main street developments, along with an exciting outlook on upcoming events in our community! Thank you, Billye Jean, for keeping us informed and for all you do to help New Albany continue to grow and thrive!

The Kiwanis Club would like to sincerely thank Coach Austin Baker and members of New Albany’s class 4A state championship winning soccer team for coming to speak to the club! We enjoyed hearing about their incredible season and celebrating all they have accomplished!

We also want to congratulate Coach Baker on being named the Daily Journal Coach of the Year, a well-deserved honor for such a wonderful coach! We are so proud of Coach Baker and this outstanding team for the way they have represented the city of New Albany, and we are so thankful for Coach Baker for being an outstanding role model for our young student athletes!

Thank you again for joining us, and congratulations on a remarkable season!

Extending a huge thank you to Coach Drew Wheeler for taking the time to come speak to the club! We enjoyed hearing about the New Albany baseball season so far and what lies ahead for the rest of the year!

We appreciate you sharing your insight and representing your program so well, as well as pouring into these young men every single day!

The Kiwanis Club would like to thank Bill Mattox, General Manager of New Albany Light, Gas & Water, for coming to speak with to the club last week! Bill shared valuable insight on the impacts of the ice storm that hit our community, as well as the work that still remains.

We are EXTREMELY grateful for Bill and the entire NALGW team for everything they did for our community during the ice storm, and for their continued dedication each and every day! Thank you Bill and NALGW for all you do!
