Being back at Crossroads Community Church - New Albany feels a little like coming home. 💚

Over the years, Crossroads has opened not only its doors to us, but also its heart, welcoming us whenever we needed a place to serve our community. From Veggie Rescue and meal-prep classes to now our Pay-As-You-Can Farmstand, and soon, our Chef Demos beginning in September, they have continued to show up for us and our neighbors.

We are so very grateful for this partnership and it's truly a real partnership. Through incredibly generous funding, we are able to pay the church for monthly cold storage and for use of the facilities.

Crossroads has always stood beside us in our mission to feed people with dignity, trust, and love. Thank you!

Our Monday Pay-As-You-Can Farmstand is moving!

Starting Monday, August 31, you can find us at:

🕑 2–4 p.m.

The first week of our 2026-27 Growing Gardeners is in the books!
We’re doing something a little different with our Growing Gardeners Clubs this year and we’re excited about it!

This year our clubs are smaller on purpose, giving students more one-on-one attention and more opportunities to explore, ask questions, and get their hands in the soil. We’ve also hired dedicated seven Garden Club Co-Leaders to guide the activities and help create a meaningful, hands-on experience for every student.

This is the first time for garden club for many of our gardeners. This week's lesson was about exploring the garden. We found lots of interesting bugs and flowers, and many of the clubs harvested tomatoes! And at SEJ ⬇😮❗❗❗

The first week back at our Growing Gardeners Clubs is always a busy one! We have five clubs underway, and we’ve already received a few sweet text messages that I just had to share:

“T. LOVED garden club today and is so excited!”
And from another club:
“She was absolutely DELIGHTED and spoke so highly of her experience!”

These students attend two different schools, and for both, this was their very first Growing Gardeners Club experience.

There is something so special about watching students discover a garden for the first time. In the club I led yesterday, we spent a lot of time checking out the lemon balm. It's growing everywhere—IYKYK LOL. And we talked about the basil. They commented that it smelled spicy but also sweet.

That’s the heart and foundation of our work: giving children opportunities to learn where their food comes from, to connect with nature, and to discover the joy and confidence that can grow in a garden.

This is exactly why we do what we do. So much fun. We love it so much!

Our Monday Farmstand Has a New Home!

Beginning Monday, August 31, the Let Us Learn Pay-As-You-Can Farmstand will be held at:

Crossroads Community Church

⏰ 2:00–4:00 PM ****NOTICE THE TIME CHANGE!**** In September, we will begin our Chef Demos begin directly after the farmstand—from 4:15 to 5:30, and you won't want to miss them! More details to come soon :)

We’ll have fresh, locally grown produce, eggs, bread, and other delicious staples available. Pay what you can, pay it forward, or simply take what your household needs. We never ask anyone to prove their need.

This change applies to our Monday Farmstand only. Please help us spread the word by sharing this post!

Hey, Veggie Lovers!

Just a reminder that Veggie Rescue is tomorrow from 12:15–1:15 PM at the New Albany High School Greenhouse under the magnolia tree— 1020 Vincennes Street, New Albany, IN

As always, we never know exactly what our amazing local farmers will bring, so every week is a little different. Come early for the best selection!

Fresh produce is always free, thanks to our generous farmers, volunteers, and supporters. No registration. No income requirements. Just neighbors helping neighbors.
