The rain let up for a few hours yesterday long enough for our Baby service. Attendance was low but understandable. We gave 16 Babies a wonderful service from dedicated people who care. Our gravedigger did a great job in horrible conditions. Thank hou to all for supporting this project We anticipate our next service in mid to late August.

Please be aware that Holy Trinity Cemetery on Green Valley Road took a direct hit from the storm. We are in process of getting it cleaned up before our burial tomorrow but tree guys are very busy. So please use caution if you go to the cemetery in the next few days. The area around the cemetery also is without power per Duke Energy.

Spring is coming!! Spring Clean-Up is upon us. All decorations at both cemeteries need to be removed by March 15. Our mowing season will start once weather stabilizes. Any items not removed will be taken off by staff and thrown away. We cannot save items until you call to claim them. Please share this info with family or friends that might not be on social media.
Celebrate the upcoming spring and the Easter season.

Do not travel in Cemetery when roads are snow covered!
Please remember that roadways in St Mary’s and Holy Trinity Cemeteries when snow covered are very slick. The roads are narrow and if driven on there is a risk of dropping off the roads and possibly getting stuck since the ground is very wet from recent rains. Also risk in damage to your vehicle or monuments. Thank you for helping us keep you safe and lessen risk of damages.

01/11/2025

Please remember the cemeteries are closed due to the extreme snow events this week. We did not plow the roadways to prevent anyone from attempting to go in and possibly get stuck or slide off into a monument. As weather stabilizes we will prepare roadways for visitors again.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Stay safe.

The Christmas wreaths from orders were placed on graves this morning. It is starting to look more like Christmas. But very happy for the pretty weather to do our work today.
Merry Christmas to all.

Friday Nov 22nd Catholic Cemeteries had the privilege hosting the Baby burials for Baptist Health Floyd. We gave 25 angel babies a glorious service and placing into their final resting place. We wish to thank the Staff from BHF that attended and helped make this program possible. We were also privileged to have many members from The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Cardinal Ritter Knights of Columbus New Albany and S IN Rite for Life attending and their continued support.
Father Jeremy from Holy Family officiated our service. We appreciate that he stepped up to fill in, since Fr Nico is out on medical leave.
There were approximately 53 attendees that braved the drizzle and cold winds to give our babies a dignified burial. We anticipate our next Baby service in April 2025.

Holy Trinity was privileged to host a segment of the Eucharistic Procession on Wednesday July 10. St Marys NA was incharge of bringing the procession to the cemetery and Holy Family lead the procession out to the next location. What an amazing opportunity to see God’s work real time. Weather was warm but everyone endured. It was a fantastic day and a huge turn out of people. Thank you for allowing Holy Trinity to be a part of this memorable event.

A huge “Thank You” to the Middle schoolers from Holy Family that came and did service work this morning at Holy Trinity Cemetery. What a great crew and thank you to Abbi for keeping everyone on task. They cleaned off markers, trimmed grass from Military markers and pulled a few weeds. The weather was perfect and the sunshine was enjoyed by everyone.

We were blessed to have the rain subside while we had our Baby Burial at Holy Trinity Cemetery today. We laid 39 babies in Jesus’ arms. Always a very emotional service and even with the chance of rain many attended.
Thank you for the continued support of such a wonderful project for our community.

Catholic Cemeteries will be hosting the upcoming baby burial for the 21 weeks or less gestational death babies from Baptist Health Floyds on Friday May 17th at 4pm at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Green Valley Road. New Albany, IN. Please say a prayer for the souls of these infants as we help build God’s cherub choir.
A special thank you to the Ancient Order of Hibernians of Louisville and the Cardinal Ritter Council of Knights of Columbus for their long term continued support which helps the cemetery to offer this service to the abandoned babies at BHF. Pictures from our November burial
