51 years ago today the world lost Steve Prefontaine.

We aren’t inspired so much as by the races that he won, but by the way that he ran them.

There were no sit and kick affairs on his watch. He went straight to the front and dared everyone else to keep up.
When that wasn’t enough he slowly increased the pace and left his opponents gasping for air and swimming in lactic acid.

At the time of his death Steve held every American record from 2,000 meters to 10,000 meters.

He was a beloved son, brother, and friend to many.

RIP Steve. You are missed but your spirit lives on in all of us.

Wow! Sebastian Sawe runs 1:59:30 at the London Marathon. Split at the half was 60:29 then he ran 59:01. Outstanding!!!!

Jessica Tandy Staton, Executive Director of the Southern Indiana Health Foundation, receives a $5,000 donation from Fast Freddie Geswein. The donation is part of the proceeds from the annual Fast Freddie’s 5-Mile Run held on Thanksgiving.

Adam Johnson of Camp Hendon accepts donation from proceeds of 2025 Fast Freddie's 5-Miler from race director Fred Geswein. The funds help defray costs of youth from southern Indiana that attend the Type-1 Diabetes Education program.
