New Half Marathon WORLD RECORD 56:51!!!!🏃‍♂️😱 🔥

Yomif Kejelcha just ran 56:51 for the half marathon in Buenos Aires!!!

The Ethiopian took 29 seconds off the 57:20 mark set by Jacob Kiplimo earlier this year.

His average pace was an astonishing 2:42 per kilometer (4:20 per mile) for 21.1 km.

The 56:51 is currently awaiting official ratification.

Congratulations to local runner Jeff Mires for finishing the Western States Endurance 100 miles. He has been patiently waiting for years to get in and this year he did. He took it on head first and completed it in under 30 hours.

This year the men and women course records fell and saw more finishers complete the course.

Way to go Jeff for your historic run to earn your buckle and being part of a historic event this year!

51 years ago today the world lost Steve Prefontaine.

We aren’t inspired so much as by the races that he won, but by the way that he ran them.

There were no sit and kick affairs on his watch. He went straight to the front and dared everyone else to keep up.
When that wasn’t enough he slowly increased the pace and left his opponents gasping for air and swimming in lactic acid.

At the time of his death Steve held every American record from 2,000 meters to 10,000 meters.

He was a beloved son, brother, and friend to many.

RIP Steve. You are missed but your spirit lives on in all of us.

Wow! Sebastian Sawe runs 1:59:30 at the London Marathon. Split at the half was 60:29 then he ran 59:01. Outstanding!!!!
