“I enjoy working for an organization that gives back to the community, particularly in this current climate where food insecurity in our community is rising every year”

For the past six years, our May Impact Volunteer of the Month, Val Robinson, has dedicated her time to supporting the Food Pantry and helping ensure that neighbors in our community have access to nutritious food and support.

Volunteering in the pantry has also given Val “a sense of need and purpose,” along with meaningful connections. “The volunteers are all lovely to work with, and we make it a fun experience with a great atmosphere. Shout out to Sarah Kate and Linda, who are fantastic leaders to work alongside!”

In addition to her work at the pantry, Val is also a member of Rose Run Presbyterian Church, which partners with the pantry throughout the year to support local families. The church grounds are also the future permanent home of the Healthy New Albany Food Pantry.

Thank you, Val, for the compassion, positivity, and endless dedication you bring to helping neighbors in need.

Thank you to all of our Healthy New Albany volunteers!

During Volunteer Appreciation Month, we’re especially grateful for the people who show up to bring our mission to life: stocking shelves at the Food Pantry, caring for the Community Garden, assisting with Nature and Nourish programs, supporting the Farmers Market, and powering events like The Healthy New Albany Walking Classic.

Last night, we celebrated the impact of all of our volunteers and were proud to recognize two who go above and beyond:
Ann Gillman, Impact Volunteer of the Year
Northwest Bank, Mission Partner of the Year

Thank you for the time, care, and energy you give to cultivate and inspire healthy living across our community.
