Prudenterra

Prudenterra Prudenterra empowers landowners to restore and maintain Iowa's native ecosystems.

We help landowners and farmers improve their stewardship and return on investment with agroecosystem planning, forestry, earthworks, and prairie, streambank and wetland restoration services. Our recommendations and enhancements are based on client objectives, which often include:

•Improve soil and crop health
•Restore native prairie, oak savanna, wetlands, or forest.
•Incorporate more trees and

shrubs into the farm landscape.
•Improve water quality in the watershed.
•Transform unprofitable corn or soybean crop ground into useful land.
•Generate income from non-agricultural land. Prudenterra means the wise use of land, and is derived from two latin words: Prudentia, (foresight, wisdom) and Terra (land, soil).

Curious about the future of sustainable land stewardship? We were recently hired on by a wonderful family to help bring life back to their 3rd generation farm by implementing a Silvopasture, Tree Planting & Forest Management Plan. This innovative service brings together the best of agroforestry, combining tree planting, pasture integration, and forest management to benefit both land and livelihood.

And that it showcased in this mini-documentary by National Geographic where they talked directly with the family.

We are so proud of what they have been able to create and honored to be part of their journey.

Why is it important that farmers consult with Professional Foresters?

Agroforestry expertise: Strategically planting trees within pasture systems (silvopasture) boosts productivity, improves soil health, and supports livestock with shade and shelter.

Customized planning: Prudenterra offers detailed forest management plans that balance your landowner goals—whether that's habitat restoration, timber value, or sustainable grazing.

Eligible for financial support: Their plans are certified and approved by NRCS, potentially qualifying you for funding through EQIP and other programs.

Outcomes that matter: Expect improved biodiversity, stronger land resilience, and diversified revenue—from forage and timber to enhanced ecosystem health.
