Known as The Holy Saints’ John, St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist are considered the patron saints of Freemasonry, and are prominent in Ohio (and all of Freemasonry’s) ritual and degree work. Their religious studies compliment each other, with St. John the Baptist being more strict with a rigid moral code compared to the more philosophical and esoteric work of St. John the Evangelist.

"Another great day for The Valley of the Firelands yesterday. The 30th degree was portrayed in the Table Format with over twenty Brothers witnessing, and several participating, in the degree for the first time, including our newest member Brother Richard Wilhelm of Marks Lodge. We were also pleased to host several visitors from other Valleys, including John Doughty, IV, Deputy's Rep. and 33rd Degree elect, Ill Brother Raymond Frenkel, 33rd Degree and Valley Secretary, and Brother Charles Tower all from the Valley of Greenfield Massachusetts.
Also, Brothers Michael Smith from the Valley of Portland Maine, Jeffrey Vanderpool from the Valley of Columbus and Brother Eugene Bitler from the Valley of Ft. Wayne, Indiana"
