Nevada Bark Park

Nevada Bark Park Trot on over to the Nevada Bark Park, your favorite local dog park! Trot on over to the Nevada Bark Park! Open 7 days a week, all year long, from dawn to dusk!

Your Favorite Local Dog Park

At the Bark Park, you can give your dog the space to let out the excitement and energy off leash! We are proud to have created a comfortable, caring, and safe environment for all of our furry friends. The wide open spaces at the Bark Park helps connect our pups with other four-legged friends or give some private room for your pup to play freely. Check out the Bark Pa

rk and enjoy an exciting and memorable experience with friends and doggos! Each of the dogs that play at the Bark Park will be required to be registered with the city under the Nevada Animal Control Animal Licensing. This includes providing your pup's veterinarian records of vaccination. By following these steps, it helps keep our Bark Park safe and healthy for all dogs to enjoy. We thank you for your cooperation and look forward to seeing you and your pup soon!

Requirements to bark at the Bark Park:

Visit Nevada's Animal Control Animal Licensing link to register here:
https://cityofnevadaiowa.org/departments/animal-control/animal-license/

Please note that this registration costs $5.00 per dog and needs renewed each year. Once registration is approved, the ACAL will provide each of your pup's registered with an ID stamped dog tag. This tag MUST be attached to your dog's collar or harness while at the Bark Park. Renewal:
Each renewal will repeat the steps above to receive a new tag for that year. Posted signage at the Bark Park will notate that year's tag color. Privileges to the Bark Park will be revoked if renewal is not completed.

Did you know? By registering your dog, it helps:
• Unite pets & owners quicker when pets stray
• Provide proof to the community your pet is current on rabies & vaccinations
• Tags let the community know you are a responsible pet owner
• Reduces the likelihood your pet is sheltered
• May reduce fees if your pet is sheltered

‐-----------------------------------‐-----------------------------------

The Nevada Bark Park allows you to bring your dogs to have fun freely while you get peace of mind. Most of all, you will make memories that will last long after you’ve left. Get in touch with The Bark Park via Facebook to learn more about our facility and upcoming events!

‐-----------------------------------‐-----------------------------------

Single Day Pass/Out of Town Guests:

At this time, we do not provide guest registration passes to out of town visitors. The private personal play and training arena is reserved for licensed dogs with the City of Nevada. Please contact our Bark Park Management with further questions.

‐-----------------------------------‐-----------------------------------

PLEASE NOTE: We will be shutting off the water and winterizing throughout the park system starting October 1st. If you visit a park after this date, the water fountains will not be available for use. Please remember to bring water and a bowl your dog when you visit the Bark Park. Thanks!

It's been quite some time that we've been working on this project and despite a small hiccup, we've managed to get finalized approval on the location!
If you could not attend or missed listening in on the council's workshop session, please see the below video.

We want to thank everyone for their patience and eagerness to get this project going and hope to be getting the last few pieces in place for fundraising before the end of spring!

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out via Facebook Messenger or via email to [email protected].

It's been a while since we've posted and have some exciting updates to share soon!

In the meantime, we want to highlight the importance of registering your dog(s) - and cats - with the City of Nevada. This will be a requirement for the future dog park. We've provided a quick link below to get you started! After filling out the form, bring it and your payment to the Police Department, located at 1209 6th St, Nevada, IA 50201.

We'd love to give our dogs the world, including a dog play area! We are still working alongside the city's Parks and Rec staff to push this Bark Park into reality. Some projects are taking longer and have more delays beyond what was planned but we still have hope for a plan B!
As more details get confirmed, we'll be in touch with volunteers to contribute to this amazing project!
