The Nevada Foundation Announces First ‘Seasons of Giving’ Grant Awards

Nevada, Iowa | The Nevada Foundation is proud to announce the completion of its first grant cycle for the Seasons of Giving fund, awarding a total of $24,000 to six local organizations dedicated to strengthening the Nevada community.

The Seasons of Giving fund was created with a clear mission: Together, with the entities and organizations that host and support many causes in our community, we can create a larger impact by collaborating on fundraising efforts and boosting awareness. This coordinated approach allows Nevada’s generosity to work year-round, supporting a continuous cycle of giving where it’s needed most.

Grant awards will be distributed across three of the fund’s four focus areas:

Helping Hands – Supporting basic needs such as clothing, food insecurity, and shelter. Nonprofits receiving funding in this category are working directly with families and individuals to ensure every neighbor has access to essential resources.

Building Nevada – Enhancing community life through beautification and revitalization projects, arts and recreation opportunities, and essential services that help Nevada thrive and grow.

Capturing Kids’ Hearts – Supporting youth through student assistance, childcare needs, and student development programs that foster healthy learning environments and brighter futures.

The Nevada Foundation is pleased to present grant awards to the following nonprofit organizations in our community:
- Nevada Community School District: Student Assistance Fund - $4,000
- Nevada Community Resource Center (NCRC) - $4,000
- Nevada Community Garden - $4,000
- Harmony Clothing Closet - $4,000
- The Camelot Theater Foundation - $4,000
- Boys & Girls Club of Story County - $4,000

The Nevada Foundation will continue its commitment to sustaining the Seasons of Giving fund, encouraging collaboration and shared purpose to serve Nevada today and for generations to come.

| 2025 Individual Philanthropists |

The recipients of this year’s award have demonstrated the spirit of philanthropy and support of the community that spans many years and many causes. Their contributions to the community impact students and families in several ways.

The Nevada Foundation was proud to present this year’s Spirit of Nevada awards at our Annual Celebration on Thursday evening. Elizabeth Gindt and Jodi Heeren are shining examples of the “Spirit of Nevada.”

A heartfelt congratulations to them and thank you for all that you do!

We had a great evening at the women's TOAST event! We learned more about the Nevada Community Historical Society. Did you know you can be their member for just $15/year and the City of Nevada will match their donations up to $5,000?!? Consider a membership or memorial brick as a holiday gift!

Thank you to all who attended our men's and women's events all year and helped us raise money for our local non-profits! We have raised over $20,000 and the first grant season has opened!
