NU GIVE Club

NU GIVE Club G.I.V.E(Giving Inspiration through Volunteering and Education) is a club that provides assistance to children in the community to continue their education.

The goal the club, GIVE, is to give back to Nevada County and provide educational opportunities and inspiration for kids from any background, but particularly from disadvantaged backgrounds. I've had the opportunity to mentor youth who are recent immigrants from Central and South America and teach them English through reading. Currently three of my mentees are completing a 100 book reading challen

ge this summer. Also, after being given the opportunity attend a web design and photography camp in 2015 at American University, I was able to start an Art Series hosted at the Nevada County Library to teach kids some of the principles I learned at my camp. This past summer, I attended an engineering camp at University Maryland and I hope to bring those learnings and create a new teaching series at the library.
