October was a busy month for Troop 20.

Scouts attended Angler Weekend at Gibson Ranch, where they learned about and worked toward earning the Fish & Wildlife Management, Fishing, and Fly Fishing merit badges. They all have just one requirement left: catch a fish. 🎣

A couple of weeks later, scouts participated in Jamboree on the Air/Jamboree on the Internet and earned the Radio merit badge after learning all about the science and application of amateur radio operations. 📻

Well done, scouts! Keep up the great work!

Last week, Troop 20 had the privilege of building and installing a bench on Wolf Creek Trail in Grass Valley. The bench honors the life of Kimberly Zwick. Kim's friends, Gail and Carol, stopped by to share some of their memories. Kim sounds like a remarkable person who was full of adventure and compassion.

I encourage everyone to live life to its fullest, like Kim did. And, as Kim often said, "Go. See. Do."

Troop 20 is Nevada City’s only all-girl Scouts BSA Troop - and we need your support! We are a very new troop and are starting from scratch with acquiring all of the gear that an active scout troop needs. The girls are currently hosting an online fundraiser selling holiday wreaths to earn money for their troop and scouting activities. Scouts from Troop 20 graduated from National Youth Leadership Training.

Scouts from Troop 20 had busy summers, including an awesome time at camp. We are getting back into our regular meeting routines now, kicking off the fall with a court of honor and recognizing scouts for their recent rank advancements and merit badges earned over the summer.
