Nevada County Arts & Culture was selected to administer the California Arts Council’s Individual Artist Fellowship Program for the Upstate Region, responsible for distributing $240,000 in unrestricted grant funding across nineteen counties.

The Upstate Individual Artists Fellowship recognizes artists at key moments in their careers, elevating their capacity for continued contributions to the field and our state. Fellows were awarded based on artists’ creative vision, aesthetic excellence, and community engagement and social impact. Legacy Artists have a significant body of work—produced over a substantial period of time—that has engaged their communities and made a significant social impact.

Lets celebrate these artists and culture bearers from across Northern California that enrich our communities through their practice and creative vision!

Nevada County Arts & Culture was selected to administer the California Arts Council’s Individual Artist Fellowship Program for the Upstate Region, responsible for distributing $240,000 in unrestricted grant funding across nineteen counties. Recognizing a larger scale need to harness rural voices in establishing a regional approach to collective policies and programming as a transformational tool, we work with peer agencies across the Region to ensure equitable access.

The Upstate Individual Artists Fellowship provides recognition to California artists at key moments in their careers, elevating their capacity for continued contributions to the field and our state. Fellows were awarded based on artists’ creative vision, aesthetic excellence, and community engagement and social impact.

Lets celebrate these artists and culture bearers from across Northern California that enrich our communities through their practice!
