Training Tuesday 🚒

Yesterday, members worked on rope rescue fundamentals, setting up a rope system between two anchor points using pulleys and prusik hitches.

To put those skills into practice, we turned the training into a competition using the system like a giant claw machine, maneuvering a bucket across the line using commands such as upstream, downstream, river right, and river left.

Training Tuesday 🚒

Yesterday’s training focused on RIT operations and firefighter rescue techniques. Our members worked through multiple scenarios practicing different methods of removing a downed firefighter under challenging conditions.

The training never stops when it comes to preparing for the safety of both our crew and our community.

Our friends at Neshannock Township Fire Company recently took delivery of Milwaukee tools, adding even more capability to their arsenal.

Their delivery includes (2) 9" Cut-off saws with Extractor Blades, (3) Super Duty Sawzalls, (2) 16" chainsaws, a ½" Impact Wrench, (2) six-pack Sequential Chargers, (2) Supervac Chisel X Chainsaw Conversion kits, and multiple batteries.

🚨 New Equipment In Service 🚨

Thanks to funding provided through the Pennsylvania Fire & Emergency Services Grant Program through the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner, our department has received new Milwaukee battery-powered tools to support our operations.

A big thank you to ESI Equipment, Inc. for their outstanding service throughout the ordering process. They were great to work with from start to finish.

A few days ago, our members had the opportunity to begin training with the new equipment and put it to use. Check out some of the photos from training night! 🔥

Yesterday, we celebrated one of our college stipend members, Richard Russo, as he begins his next chapter. We are grateful for his hard work, dedication, and the impact he has made during his time with our department.

Being prepared can make all the difference in an emergency situation. Always keep a fire extinguisher accessible and know how to use it before you need it.
