A decade ago, HomeWorks, a UMC Service set out to carry UMC's mission beyond our communities and into the homes of the seniors we serve.

Earlier this week, teammates from across UMC and HomeWorks gathered at our Home Office in Neptune to celebrate ten years of doing just that!

Behind every one of those years are the people who make HomeWorks what it is: the clients who welcome us into their lives, and the caregivers who show up for them with skill, patience, and heart.

The celebration featured remarks from UMC President & CEO Mark Lenhard, SVP of Programs & Services and HomeWorks co-founder Cindy Jacques, and HomeWorks Director Terra Tilden, who each reflected on how far HomeWorks has come and how much promise still lies ahead.

To the clients who trust us, the caregivers who give so much, and everyone who joined us to celebrate, thank you. Here's to bringing abundant life home. 💛

A recent feature in the Ocean City Sentinel highlights a unique summer program at The Shores, a UMC Community, where Lehigh University student Leah Strasser served as the Artist in Residence, bringing together her studies in neuroscience and art to explore creativity, cognitive wellness, and connection with residents.

The program reflected our belief that innovation in aging services can come from unexpected places. Through a series of art experiences, we gained valuable insight into the ways creativity can support brain health and wellbeing.

What a fantastic day at the ballpark! ⚾

The UMC Foundation was proud to sponsor the July 12 Somerset Patriots game and spend the afternoon connecting with the community while sharing our mission with new audiences. Fans of all ages stopped by our table to spin the prize wheel, pick up UMC goodies, and learn more about the work we do to support older adults.

One of the biggest highlights of the day was cheering on UMC Foundation Board of Trustees member Lisa Kaufman, who had the honor of throwing a ceremonial pitch! 👏

A big thank-you to the Somerset Patriots for their wonderful partnership.

🎨 Creativity has a unique way of bringing people together. We're grateful to everyone who joined us at The Shores, a UMC Community's Flow State Art Gallery, celebrating the talent, expression, and connections fostered through our Artist in Residence program.

Special thanks to Leah Strasser for helping residents discover new ways to shine.

Three national awards? We’ll take that! 🎉

We’re honored to share UMC and the UMC Foundation have received three Merit Awards in the 2026 National Mature Media Awards!

These awards recognize the stories and communications that help people connect with our mission — from the everyday moments shared on Pitman Manor, a UMC Community’s page, to the relationships celebrated in Engage magazine, to the resources that support future UMC Foundation leaders.

A special thank you to our creative partners at Masterpiece Marketing and PSC for helping bring two of these award-winning pieces to life!

This month, Collingswood Manor, a UMC Community celebrates 135 years of service in Camden County, New Jersey. 🎉

Since opening its doors in 1891, Collingswood Manor has been woven into the fabric of the Collingswood community. Through generations of change, our mission remains the same: creating a place where older adults can thrive, families can find peace of mind, and meaningful connections are built every day.

At UMC, we believe technology shouldn't replace the human touch that defines our communities — it should strengthen it.

This morning on On New Jersey’s "Mornings with Ken Rosato," UMC Chief Information Officer Travis Gleinig shared how we’re thoughtfully integrating AI and innovative technology to streamline processes and support our team members. These tools allow us to spend more time focused on what matters most: our residents, their families, and the meaningful connections that enrich their lives.

Thank you to Christopher Widelo, State Director at AARP New Jersey and UMC Foundation Trustee, for helping make this conversation possible! Watch the full interview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACc3vGd2MlU
