The "Neosho Mural" is made up of over 61,000 tiles that are 1 inch or smaller in size. Each tile was placed by hand in 1965. Today, as restoration work continues, each replacement is being hand set to match the original tiles placement.

New tiles are now being installed on the "Neosho Mural" by Lawrence Sanchez in Historic Downtown Neosho! Each tile is being hand placed and excess grout is being sponged away.

The "Neosho Mural" was installed in 1965 across from Neosho's historic Big Spring Park. Sanchez had the winning mural design that was turned into the 9 foot by 45 foot mural which was constructed out of 61,000 colorful 1-inch square ceramic tiles. The mural’s panoramic design depicts events in Neosho’s history from its early settlement to the early days of the space age.
