Something exciting is happening as we create “The Middle of Everywhere” documentary, the Newton County Tourism Council has developed a unique way to bring our past back to life. 💪🎬

Our period perfect Camp Crowder characters will be roaming throughout the community, meeting people, hearing their stories, and helping us uncover photographs, memories, and memorabilia connected to this remarkable chapter in our history. 🎥✨

We want people talking, sharing, remembering, and helping us document the stories that might otherwise be lost. ❤️

📍 What happened right here in Neosho, Missouri, USA, did not stay here. Camp Crowder and the people connected to it helped shape events that affected the entire world, and even reached beyond it! 🚀

We had a spectacular afternoon at the Neosho Newton County Library on Friday the 28th of August. 🥳✨

The Newton County Tourism Council recently hosted a community talk for “The Middle of Everywhere” documentary. Our crew shared updates about the project while connecting with community members who can help us uncover local stories, locate historical memorabilia, and find unique ways for people to become part of the documentary itself.🎬🙌

We had a wonderful time talking about the history that unfolded right here in Newton County and the surrounding areas. These gatherings are not only a way to follow the documentary's progress, but also an opportunity to learn, share memories, ask questions, and help preserve the stories that shaped our community. 🗓️✨

More talks are coming, and we will share the dates, locations, and details as they are scheduled. We hope you will join us! 📍🌎

"The Middle of Everywhere" documentary crew had a wonderful evening at the old Joplin Airport terminal, yesterday August 13th, presenting more in depth details to the Joplin American Legion and to a full room of meaningful attendees.

Guests had the opportunity to meet our documentary director, Newton County Tourism's social media director, and one of our very diligent historians, all working together to preserve the stories, people, and history connected to Camp Crowder and our region.

We also shared ways YOU can become part of this project, including receiving commemorative artwork and having the name of a loved one included in the film credits, helping their story and contributions continue to be celebrated on the big screen.

We would absolutely love to send you some art and welcome you into The Middle of Everywhere.

Come enjoy your dinner, get yourself soda, or just come see what we’re doing all dressed up in period perfect Camp Crowder uniforms and as many has seen us about different location in the area. We would love to tell you more, so mark your calendars now. This is our next destination on our list of places to visit.

Come meet the people helping bring Camp Crowder’s incredible history to life and learn about our documentary project being done to preserve history right here in Neosho, Missouri USA, The Middle of Everywhere. Today people got to see some of the crew at Cracker Barrel near Joplin, Mo.

Camp Crowder brought people from across the country and around the world to Southwest Missouri. When this documentary is complete, the stories preserved here in Newton County will have the opportunity to reach audiences far beyond our community. You can now find information about our Camp Crowder documentary at many local businesses around the Historic Square in Neosho, Missouri.

Have a family story, photos, artifacts, or memories connected to Camp Crowder? We'd love to hear from you if we haven’t already shared with us. There are several ways to get involved and help preserve this incredible piece of our history.

We also have fun documentary trifolds available full of information. If your business or organization would like some to display, or you'd simply like a few to share with others, let us know.

Every story helps us tell the world just how special the families, farmers, and people who made impacting effort during WWII, during the space race at Rocketdyne, and truly effected lives in Neosho, Missouri USA, people across the globe, and as far as space itself.
