The pe*****le ra**st Jeff Pyke received a sentence of at least a mandatory 18 years in prison. He won't be back in Nelsonville anytime soon.

Daisha L. Somers of Nelsonville, Ohio, was arrested by the Mason County Sheriff's Department with the help of the Point Pleasant Police Department. Ms. Somers had outstanding warrants for the following charges: Murder x2, Endangering children x3, Felonious assault, Involuntary manslaughter, Aggravated possession of drugs, Corrupting another with drugs. This fugitive out of Ohio was arrested in Point Pleasant, WV.

The Nelsonville Water Department has issued a boil order for Myers Street, North Street and Monroe Street from Myers Street to the dead end.

This boil order is due to a water main break and repair. The boil order will be in effect for the area until 4:00PM, Friday, December 19, 2025.

When a boil order is in effect, we ask all who are affected to boil their cooking and drinking water for three (3) minutes before being consumed.
