With the extension of Governor Evers’ Safer at Home Order, all public and parochial schools have been ordered closed through the remainder of the year, which necessitates cancellation of the remaining PTA meetings and events.
All of us have had to adapt to many changes in recent times, and the PTA is no different. Elections for next year’s board were supposed to be conducted during this time. Given the unprecedented situation, the 2020-2021 PTA board was appointed by the current board. This procedure was approved by Principal Schumacher. This was done in order to allow the PTA to continue serving Clayton students, families, teachers and staff into next school year with no disruption in services.
Prior to school closure, a letter was sent home to parents from the PTA. Included in that letter was a box that could be checked indicating that a person was interested in serving on the PTA board. The current PTA board used those responses in order to reach out to individuals and the new board was appointed based on those responses.
