Last Saturday I attended the life celebration of a Brother. I didn't post immediately because what I've learned and witnessed throughout this process has been weighing on me. H.P.G.M Herman Gabriel was a mentor to my mentors and in the craft, I found him to be a Giant. What I learned was he was even a bigger and better man. I didn't see sorrow. I saw and heard how he touched others lives, the impression he left, the standard he set. The few times I talked to him, though I knew I was in the presence of someone unique, I had no ideal to what level. I was just a young Mason in awe.... So, like many others, with just a few conversations and too many examples of "stop talking, get to work" to repeat, he made an everlasting impact on me and helped me understand the drive of my mentors that much better. And though I still have so many feelings and thoughts, I'm left with this one....how will others speak of me when I'm gone? Will I be forgotten or remembered with such high esteem and respect because my works spoke volumes for me?....
Special Thanks to Ever Ready Lodge #506 for allowing me to be involved and educated. Also in attendance from Routt's Pride Lodge #437 was W.M. R. Campbell and S.W. J. Edwards.
Respectfully and Forever Honored,
