We have exciting news! The first step in bringing a skate/action park to Needham happens Monday night and we need your help! A budget item for preliminary design is an agenda item on the Needham Town Meeting. It is paired with the design of a pickleball court so fans of that sport will want to take action as well.
The warrant for the skate park and the pickleball courts is number 25 and it is proposed by the Needham Select Board. It is lumped in with a number of other capital budget items such as fleet replacement, a new generator for CATH, etc. Therefore it is easy to miss which is why we want to get the word out! The vote is also scheduled a little more than halfway through the agenda of 40 items so it could be taken up toward the end of the first night, or be delayed to night two, for those of you who would like to attend Town Meeting in person.
So what can YOU do to move this project forward? Contact your Town Meeting member who represents your precinct. If you don’t know who that is, there is a list of on the Needhamma.gov website and a form to contact your district rep - use this link https://www.needhamma.gov/FormCenter/Town-Manager-Forms-8/
Contact them in advance of Monday night and let them know that you want to see a skate/action park in Needham. Also reach out to family, friends, and other Needham voters and have them do the same.
