On this day, we honor the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001 – and pay tribute to the fire fighters and first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others. We will never forget.

The public safety exemption that Representative Jared Patterson fought hard to get into SB 10, the property tax reform bill, is being removed by the Senate-House conference committee. Please contact your state representatives and senators and ask them to ensure public safety funding is protected in SB 10. Also, please tell your cities and ESDs to do the same. We are all in this together. For background, our August 19 letter to Texas Rep. Morgan Meyer, the House Ways and Means chair, is attached.
