ZUCCHINI IS SAFE!

On Sunday, October 4th, Zucchini, a dog in the care of EAPL Evergreen (Evergreen Animal Protective League), was on his way to his furever home when he managed to escape from his foster’s vehicle during transport. He immediately took off, and the mission to bring Zucchini home safely began.

Zucchini’s adventure started in Morrison, Colorado, near busy Highway 285. With the constant risk of him running into traffic & being hit by a vehicle, getting him to safety became increasingly urgent.

Over the next five days, there were multiple sightings of him in the area, including reports of him crossing the dreaded highway multiple times. Then, we learned he had an injury to his back leg. Not knowing the extent of the injury or whether he had been hit by a vehicle, the urgency to get him to safety increased even more...

Five days of searching, watching, waiting, and refusing to give up.

On the fifth night, a trap was set. Within just an hour and a half, Zucchini found it! 🎉
Once successfully trapped, he was immediately transported to the emergency room for evaluation. Thankfully, his injuries were limited to lacerations, with no major injuries found. We are so incredibly grateful that he is safe and can start his recovery.

This rescue took a village. EAPL volunteers, fellow trappers, drone concier services, members of the amazing community, and his foster, who never once gave up on him, all came together with one shared goal: bringing Zucchini home.

Every sighting, every set of eyes searching, every person who showed up to help by bringing food/water, and every person who refused to give up played a part in getting this boy to safety.

This pup is one incredibly lucky boy, but he also had an incredible team of people fighting to bring him home.

To everyone who helped make this rescue possible, THANK YOU. Your dedication, compassion, and determination made all the difference.

And to his foster, thank you for never giving up on him. ❤️

Five days on the run. Countless people who cared. One very lucky dog who is finally safe.

THIS is what happens when a community comes together for an animal in need. It takes a village, and Zucchini’s village brought him home!

Welcome Home Zucchini!

🚨 WE HAVE BIG NEWS! 🚨

No Animal Left Behind Search & Rescue is BEYOND excited to announce the launch of our NEW WEBSITE!
NALBRescue.org

This isn’t just a website it’s a new way for us to serve our community and the surrounding mountain communities when they need us most.
If you’ve lost an animal, you can now visit our website and submit a Lost Pet Report. A member of our team will review your report and reach out to you as soon as possible.

But that’s not all!
If you see an animal you believe may be lost, you can also submit a Sighting Tip. Every sighting matters. These tips help us document an animal’s movements, identify patterns, narrow down their location, and ultimately work toward a safe recovery.

Our website will also allow you to view open cases, follow lost-animal activity, and help us track sightings and movement because finding lost animals truly takes a community.

We need your help!
Share our website wherever you see a lost animal post or animal sighting in our community. If you come across a post from someone searching for a lost pet, or someone reporting an animal they’ve seen, please comment our website so they know where they can submit a report and get help.

Because our website is brand new, we’d also love your feedback! If you run into a problem, notice something that isn’t working correctly, or have suggestions for improvement, please reach out to us right away.

We are incredibly excited about this next chapter and the opportunity to help even more animals find their way safely home.

Thank you for continuing to support us, share our mission, and be part of the No Animal Left Behind community. 🐾

LUCY IS SAFE after 15 long days! 🎉

Lucy went missing from her newly adoptive family while outside on a leash. She escaped and began an adventure none of us will ever forget. She traveled from Dumont → Idaho Springs → Georgetown, Colorado.

Her new family, foster mom, and NALB volunteers took action immediately. And boy oh boy, did Lucy keep us on our toes! With her actively moving, each day meant moving scent stations, updating lost dog posters, and following every new sighting.

Her support team never gave up. And the community was a lifesaver. Every sighting helped us track her movements and understand where she was headed.

During her travels, Lucy thankfully managed to lose half of her leash, but unfortunately sustained an injury to her rear leg. That didn't seem to slow her down, though!

On Day 15, thanks to the community continuing to call in sightings, we were finally able to move in and set a trap. Lucy was safely captured!

She was immediately taken to the ER, where she was evaluated and cleared to go home and rest after her big adventure.

We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who searched, shared, watched, reported sightings, and helped us bring this girl home.

This rescue was made possible in part by a generous donation from the Stasz family, in loving memory of Tony, a fellow animal lover.❤️

Want to help us continue our mission?

Every search takes time, resources, equipment, and dedicated volunteers. Your support helps No Animal Left Behind Search & Rescue continue searching for lost, missing, abandoned, and at-risk animals just like Lucy.

HANK IS HOME after 10 LONG days!

Hank went missing on July 17 after jumping out of a vehicle window on Foxton Road in Conifer, CO.
During his adventure, he traveled an estimated 9-square-mile area, and thanks to an incredible community effort, 19 sightings were reported!

Hank's family worked tirelessly, moving scent/feeding stations, and signs based on each of the reported sightings.
On Saturday night, Hank finally located one of the family's stations! With the chances of him returning to the area, they decided to camp nearby on Sunday night in hopes of seeing him again.
Their patience paid off! Hank returned to the scent site! Following our guidance, they stayed calm when they spotted him about 30 yards away. They remained lying in their sleeping bags, avoided making eye contact, and gave Hank the time and space he needed to make the choice to come to them.
Over the next hour, he visited the multiple trail cameras, ate the food that had been left for him, and then, on his own, walked right up to his people! 🎉🩷

This is exactly why we stress allowing a lost dog to approach on their own terms. When dogs are in survival mode, even the people they love most can seem overwhelming. Patience, well planned scent stations, and resisting the urge to chase or yell out to them can make all the difference.

Welcome home little buddy! Thank you to everyone who reported sightings, shared his posts, and supported his family throughout this journey!

NALB has been busy! 🐾

We had three amazing volunteers from our Emergency Response Team travel to Pueblo to assist with the Aspen Acres Fire for multiple day's. They gained invaluable hands-on experience and learned so much! We are incredibly grateful to have been invited to help support the response effort.

This past weekend, we also had the opportunity to attend the Gilpin County Fair, where we shared information about our new No Animal Left Behind Emergency Response Team while continuing our mission of helping reunite lost pets and assisting animals in need throughout our community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, asked questions, shared kind words, and showed your support!

We couldn't do this without all of you! ❤️🐾

Unfortunately Savannah's owner was unexpectedly hospitalized, so we needed to safely bring her in while her human recovers.

Because Savannah is fearful, we didn't want to add any extra stress by trying to catch her by hand. Thankfully, she LOVES tuna! She walked right into the trap in less than 30 minutes. 👏
This beautiful girl will be safe, loved, and well cared for until her owner is healthy enough to bring her back home. Wishing her owner a speedy recovery!

BISCUIT IS HOME! 🎉
After 21 days on the run, this incredible Great Pyrenees adventure has finally come to an end!
Biscuit had only been with his newly adopted family in Evergreen for a couple of days when he went missing on June 24th. He had recently made the journey from Arizona to Colorado with the sheep he was meant to protect. He wasn’t just moving homes, he was adjusting to an entirely new environment, new surroundings, and a new routine.
Biscuit is a working Great Pyrenees, bred with the instincts to guard his animals and his family. When he managed to escape a backyard with 4-foot fencing and electrical wire over the top, his instincts kicked in and he began his journey.
For the first two weeks, there were zero sightings. Nothing. He seemed to have disappeared.
But his family never stopped searching!
They worked tirelessly, putting out scent stations using items his previous family shipped from Arizona, setting up cameras, hanging posters, passing out flyers, talking to anyone and everyone, and sharing his story all across social media. They did everything possible to bring him home.
On July 10th, a sighting finally came in! He was miles away from where he had disappeared...
For a Great Pyrenees, this was not completely surprising. These dogs are independent, determined, and known for making their own decisions. 😂
He may have been following his instincts, possibly trying to make his way back toward the place he knew as home — Arizona, where he was comfortable, familiar with his surroundings, and had his established role.
His family immediately shifted their efforts to the new area, moving scent stations, food, water, cameras, posters, and continuing to spread the word.
Then sightings went quiet again.
Until July 14th.
Biscuit was finally seen multiple times! But this time in downtown Bailey, even farther from his original location. People attempted to get close, but he wasn’t ready to trust anyone just yet. He needed to make that decision on his own.

July 15th, Biscuit finally decided his adventure was over. 🎉
He put trust with a family who was able to safely bring him inside. He was fed, given water, and kept safe until his owners could get to him.
This amazing boy traveled approximately 14 miles as the crow flies! And even farther on foot!
Whether he was trying to make his way back to Arizona or simply following his instincts, Biscuit’s determination and resilience were absolutely incredible.
Biscuit is now home and safe. He has a vet checkup scheduled, is being slowly reintroduced to regular meals, and is getting plenty of rest after his big adventure.

A huge THANK YOU to our mountain communities for showing up, sharing posts, watching for Biscuit, reporting sightings, and helping this family through one of the most stressful experiences a pet owner can face.

Welcome home big guy!

A Shiba Inu named Raya was visiting her family cabin off of Lump Gulch in Gilpin County when she found a way out of the RV while her people were at the grocery store.

From day one, this sweet girl was on the move.
She made her way down toward Gamble/Travis Gulch, where she was sighted multiple times. Scent stations and trail cameras were deployed throughout the area, while her owners spent countless hours searching, talking with neighbors, and following every lead.
Days into the search, the sightings suddenly went cold for 72 hours.
Fear of the worst began creeping into everyone's minds.

Then, on day 8, a local resident in Nederland reported a sighting! Somehow, this determined little girl had made it all the way to Nederland!

New scent stations were placed, and the search shifted to a whole new area. Thankfully sightings continued to come in, but Raya always seemed to stay one step ahead.

On day 9, we received several morning sightings and headed out once again. This time, everything fell into place.
Hours into the day, Raya crossed Highway 119 right in front of us and became startled, running onto a nearby deck. It gave her owner just enough time to get close and start talking to her.

She recognized him immediately. 🥹

Without hesitation, Raya came running straight into his arms!

To everyone who shared posts, reported sightings, checked cameras, offered property access, and helped search... THANK YOU!!
Our mountain community is truly something special, and we couldn't have brought Raya home without you.

❤️🎉 Welcome home sweet girl! 🎉❤️
