Please welcome Poppy & Pearl to Rescue. 💔
And buckle up, because these two girls are going to need us. A LOT.
We drove all the way to Kansas City to meet a transporter bringing these precious girls out of an incredibly cruel puppy mill. Both are only about 5–6 years old, yet they have already endured an unimaginable number of pregnancies and litters.
They came to us in absolutely heartbreaking condition.
💔 Poppy, the smaller red girl, is essentially completely blind. Her eyes are in such terrible shape that she may ultimately need an eye removed. And somehow, through all of that pain and neglect, she is still the sweetest little soul.
💔 Pearl, our chocolate girl, has one of the largest eye ulcers we have ever seen. It has to be excruciatingly painful. She is also actively in heat and has severely impacted a**l glands.
These girls have spent their lives being used for one purpose and then left to suffer when their bodies began to fail them.
But they are finally FREE. 🥺
They are headed straight to our amazing vet for a full evaluation, and we already know the medical bills are going to be substantial. Eye treatment, possible surgery, spay care, testing, medications, and everything else these girls need to finally put their past behind them.
And we still desperately need ONE MORE FOSTER HOME for one of these girls.
If you have a few dollars to spare, please consider skipping that coffee or tossing $5, $10, or whatever you can into their medical fund. Every single dollar will help us give Poppy and Pearl the care they should have received years ago.
After everything humans have done to them, they are still sweet. They are still trusting. They still want love.
That part might break our hearts the most. 💔
They spent their lives on a concrete floor, producing litter after litter.
Tonight, they are finally rescue dogs.
And we intend to show them that their lives are worth so much more than what they were used for. 🐾❤️
