What was your life like before NDCB/Where did you come from? I was a very loved family member for the first several years of my life and then my mom passed away and I was stuck living in a dark outdoor barn with other dogs for a few years until NDCB came and rescued all of us. I was adopted into a very loving home for several years and my adoptive Mom fell on hard times financially, and unfortunately, made the poor decision to take me back to a shelter. The shelter contacted the Rescue and here I am back again, looking for my forever family.
Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? Foster mom
Are you good with kids? What age ranges? Yes (all ages). I have always lived with kids and absolutely adore them.
Are you good with other dogs? Be VERY specific here I do really well with my foster brother, I have been around other dogs as well and seem to be fine with any dogs. I was said to be female dog selective, but believe that in my older age, I have calmed way down about that.
Are you good with cats? Not at all. I am a boxer and I will chase them and we are unsure what would happen if I actually got one so let’s not test that theory! Lol.
Are you housebroken? What is your current potty routine? Fully house broke, I will wait by the door to be let out. I’m grown!
Do you like car rides? Love car rides
Do you like walks? How are you on a leash? I am fantastic on a leash and love walks
Do you like toys? What is your favorite toy? I really like bones- they seem to be my favorite. And I am very treat motivated
Do you know any commands/tricks? I know how to sit and lay down.
How are your house manners? I am a perfectly well behaved lady in the house, im

Describe your personality- I get the zoomies sometimes but most of the time I like to lay on the couch. I love to be with my humans and will follow them around wherever they go. I am crate trained but I prefer sleeping in bed with my humans or on the couch.
Describe your perfect home- I feel like i would like a quieter home where I can relax, but I do still have little bursts of energy so if you’re home has some moderate activity, I would probably be just fine with that as well. Really I just want a soft place to live out my final years and be pampered like the princess I should’ve always been. I would really like a home where I’m allowed on all furniture and to sleep in bed with you. I’ve spent so many years sleeping in a cold barn. I really just want a family who will love and cherish me and in return I will show them endless loyalty and devotion for my final years.

These two precious Chihuahua girls are looking for a soft place to land, and we would LOVE to keep these sisters together! ❤️

🐶 Meet the girls:
💕 Ages 4 and 6
💕 Both spayed
💕 Have always lived together
💕 Love kids and adults alike
💕 Get along great with other dogs
💕 Pampered pets who just need a little refresher on house training
💕They do need a fenced yard as these little ladies like to say hi to the neighbors 😂

We don’t know how they feel about cats, so a foster home with kitties would need to be comfortable keeping everyone separated if necessary.

Update: Gracie is in a foster home. She is looking for her forever home. 🧡

🚨 URGENT: FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED FOR GRACIE 🚨

We are absolutely heartbroken and, quite honestly, furious that we are having to make this post.

Meet Gracie. She’s a 12-year-old female Boxer who has already been through more than any dog should ever have to endure.

Gracie was once someone’s pampered pet. Somewhere along the way, her life changed dramatically, and she was left alone in a dark barn for YEARS. We stepped in, got her out of that horrible situation, took care of all her medical needs, and found her a foster home that ultimately decided to adopt her.

We thought she was finally home. We thought her days of being abandoned were behind her.

Yesterday, we discovered that Gracie had been dumped at our local Humane Society.

After everything this girl has already survived, we cannot begin to express how upsetting this is. A dog who has spent years alone, who was given a second chance, and who we believed had found her forever home is now facing another upheaval at 12 years old.

We are going to get Gracie back immediately. That part isn’t up for debate. But we NEED somewhere safe for her to land, and we need it quickly.

❤️ What Gracie needs:

🐾 A committed foster or foster-to-adopt home that understands this is a senior dog who deserves stability for the rest of her life.

🐾 She can be selective with female dogs, but she seems to do well with male dogs. She previously lived with multiple dogs and a small child.

🐾 No cats. Gracie is not cat-friendly.

🐾 She is housebroken and very well-behaved in the home.

🐾 She is protective of her people and can be wary of men. After the years of isolation she’s endured, she has some quirks that will require patience, understanding, and a willingness to work with her.

Gracie isn’t perfect. She has baggage. She has preferences. She has lived a life that no dog deserves, and those experiences have left their mark.

But she is 12 years old. She should not have to keep starting over because the humans in her life fail her.

We are not looking for someone who feels sorry for her today and changes their mind tomorrow. We are looking for someone who understands the commitment, is willing to give her time to settle in, and will not give up on her when things aren’t effortless.

All of Gracie’s medical care has been completed, and we will provide everything she needs while in our care.

This beautiful girl is 12.5 years young, and she is quite possibly the sweetest Black Lab you’ll ever meet. 🥹🐾

Cheesey has spent her entire life with the same family, but sadly, due to her owner’s health circumstances, she is now looking for a new family to love her.

And let me tell you… this girl is a GEM. ❤️

🐾 Great with kids of all ages
🐾 Great with dogs
🐾 Great with cats
🐾 Great with birds
🐾 Very well trained
🐾 Up to date on vaccines
🐾 Has been loved and cared for her entire life

At 12.5, Cheesey isn’t looking for a life of adventure and chaos. She’s looking for the good stuff: a comfy bed, a loving family, a full belly, some sunshine, and someone who will let her spend her golden years knowing she is safe and loved. 🥰

Cheesey really cannot go to a kennel or pound. After having a family her entire life, that would be incredibly hard on her. We are desperately hoping to find someone who will open their heart and home to this sweet senior girl and give her the peaceful, loving retirement she deserves.

🐾 TWO SWEET BOYS. ONE BIG SECOND CHANCE. 🐾

These two handsome boys are officially headed to foster after a VERY big day at the vet! ❤️

Unfortunately, they hadn’t seen a veterinarian in over THREE YEARS, and it showed. They both came in needing quite a bit of TLC, including treatment for ear infections, skin infections, and some very overdue dental care. They both desperately need dentals and extractions, too. 🥺🦷

But today marks the beginning of their road to recovery, and we couldn’t be more excited for them! 🥰

They’ve got a little work ahead of them, including a pretty important weight-loss journey. These boys have clearly enjoyed the good life a little too much, and now it’s time to get those adorable chunky bodies feeling their best. 😂❤️

We’ll keep you updated on their progress, their weight-loss journey, and all the little milestones along the way. Hopefully, before too long, they’ll be healthy, happy, and ready for their brand-new adventures with families of their own. 🏡🐾

And now comes the less adorable part… the vet bill. 😬

Their bill was definitely NOT small after everything they needed today.

🚨 RIDE NEEDED: BRANSON, MO ➡️ SIOUX CITY, IA 🚨

This sweet little Frenchie lady needs a ride to her rescue village! 🐾💗

She’s 6 years old and unfortunately needs some medical care, so our first priority is getting her safely to Sioux City where we can get her seen by our vet and start getting her feeling better.

A couple important things for her ride:
🐶 She is currently NOT dog friendly
🐶 She’ll need to be the only passenger OR safely crated in the vehicle if other dogs are along for the ride
🐶 We’re looking for a safe, reliable transport, not an adventure buddy 😂

Right now, our only goal is getting this little girl to us so we can address her medical needs. Please hold off on questions about adoption or when she’ll be available. We simply don’t know that yet. ❤️
