The Mayhew Cabin Foundation is celebrating their grand reopening of the historic Mayhew Cabin at 7:00 pm on the evening of June 19, 2026 in commemoration of the Juneteenth National Holiday and American 250 Celebration.

Exciting News for Nebraska City!

We're kicking off a Senior Center Pilot Program this summer, and YOU'RE invited to be a part of it!

Beginning Tuesday, June 2, join us weekly on Tuesday mornings from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm in the lower level of the Veteran's Memorial Building. The program will run through September 1, 2026.

Drop in anytime! There's no need to stay the whole time, come and go as it fits your schedule, whether that's 30 minutes or the full morning.

This pilot program is all about creating a welcoming space for connection, conversation, and community for older adults in Nebraska City. But it's more than just a gathering, it's a chance to help shape the future! We'll be gathering ideas, feedback, and support as we explore the possibility of a permanent senior center in our community.

We want to hear from you! Whether you plan to attend, have ideas for activities, or simply want to share your thoughts, people of all ages are encouraged to get involved. We're looking for volunteers to help during the sessions to interact with those participating, to provide entertainment or information sessions, or bring new ideas!
