Dear Friends,

Chuck Pohlmann recently spoke before the Board of County Commissioners on behalf of Navarre Beach and the Preserve Navarre nonprofit. He made our position perfectly clear standing against the county's proposed beach boardwalk project.

Moreover, Chuck reminded the County Commissioners of the many urgent needs and priorities on which the Commissioners SHOULD be focused. See below:

Chuck's point is clear --- the county is focused on all the wrong things. Expanding tourism and overdeveloping the beach are not what the citizens want. We have many other urgent needs including transportation, fixing and updated infrastructure, and expanding emergency services. This is where the County should be spending its time.

Join Chuck and over 5,000 citizens in taking a stand against the awful beach project. Sign here today:

Dear Navarre Beach Community,

Never forget means never forget.

If you run, walk, or work out to stay fit, we invite you to join us on September 11th for our annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

This event is an opportunity to honor the sacrifices made on that day while challenging yourself physically and supporting our future firefighters. It also serves as a meaningful way to change your exercise routine for the day. Shorts and tee shirts are acceptable. Bunker gear is not a requirement.

The event is free and open to the public, whether you are a firefighter or not. Participants may choose their own pace and goal. There will not be any awards or tee shirts given. Some will complete the full 110 floor climb (11 floors climbed 10 times), while others may choose a distance that is right for them.

Please remember to bring water.

Donations made payable to NBFRD, will be accepted. All proceeds will be used to purchase firefighting bunker gear. Four of our lifeguards will be attending the fire academy beginning in
January, and the cost to outfit one firefighter is $3,581. It is our goal to fully fund the equipment needs for each of these future firefighters.

If you plan to participate, please email Joan Fryt at [email protected] so we may prepare an accurate head count.

Event Details

 Date: September 11
 Time: 8:00 a.m.
 Location: Summerwinds parking lot, 8575 Gulf Blvd., Navarre
 Parking: Please park across the street at the boat ramp parking area
 Reminder: Bring water

If you are unable to join us but wish to support our mission of developing and equipping our future firefighters, you may contact Fire Chief Jonathan Kanzigg at [email protected] , or stop by
the station.

Thank you for your continued support of Navarre Beach Fire Rescue District and our commitment to serving this community.

Respectfully,

Dear Friends,

Please take 1 minute out of your day to have your voice heard on an issue that is critical to Navarre's future. Sign the petition here:

https://c.org/Z7CTck2YBv.

This is the best way to take a stand. We are already up to 3,000 signatures of citizens who want to preserve Navarre's beautiful, natural beach.

Additionally, if you are free tomorrow we encourage you to attend the County Commission meeting in Tiger Point Community Center (1370, Tiger Park Lane) at 8:30am.

Over the weekend, I have had discussions with everyone from locals to tourists to business owners who have all voiced concerns about this unnecessary project. Even many of our neighbors who strongly opposed us on incorporation agree with us on this issue!

That is a good sign. It should be obvious to everyone that we do not need more development -- especially for county offices -- on Navarre Beach. What we need is to invest our hard-earned tax dollars into the existing infrastructure.

Sign and share the petition and let the County know that Navarre Beach is not the spot for tourism offices!

Cheers,

Tomorrow an important day for Navarre Beach's future.

Help make our neighbors aware of this $50,000,000.00 debacle being driven not by residents, but by the TDC Director and supporters.

8:30am Board of County Commissioners meeting in Tiger Point.
Tiger Point Community Center, 1370 Tiger Park Lane, Gulf Breeze, FL.

Several of the Commissioners attending do not support Navarre and Navarre Beach or have been voted out of office for their tone deaf responses to the needs and interests of the residents of Navarre / Midway / Holley.

Your voice is needed to tell them plainly and directly what your opinion is. For or against.

Tomorrow morning 8:30am. They've already approved it, we need to convince them it's a terrible idea for Navarre Beach.

Dear Friends,

Santa Rosa County is moving forward with plans to radically develop Navarre Beach.

For years we have been told by the establishment that "Navarre is built out" and nothing more was being planned. Clearly that isn't the case because the county is soliciting bids to establish county tourism offices right in the middle of the areas we frequent.

Read more here: https://weartv.com/news/local/navarre-beach-boardwalk-welcome-center-project-goes-out-for-bid-amid-resident-opposition

Navarre Beach generates millions in tourism for the county every year. The county government gets to spends this, and they clearly want to see more money flowing for their control. Meanwhile locals are forced to deal with the costs. This includes aging and incomplete infrastructure, traffic congestion, and more issues that continue to not be sufficiently addressed.

Friends -- please join us in standing against this awful development. Here's how to get involved:

A 10,000 sq ft Navarre Beach Education Center and Boardwalk - Tuesday

The SRC Commissioners plan to vote on this Boardwalk and Gulf front Tourist Development Office this Tuesday , 0830 am, at the Tiger Point, 1370 Tiger Park lane.

If approved, the new TDC office and Education Center project will bring an approximately 10,000-square-foot elevated “education and office building” with a boardwalk to the beachfront. Plans currently have the structure being built between the dune line on the Gulf side and a proposed parking lot just south of Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center.

The project is within the boundaries of the Navarre Beach Marine Park, which was set aside for both public recreation and conservation of Navarre Beach’s natural scenery.

According to the county, the bid solicitation process began Aug. 4, and bids are due Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. A pre-bid meeting was held Aug. 13 in Milton. County Engineering staff are handling the process.

Your last chance to make your voice heard will be Tuesday morning’s Commissioners Meeting in Tiger Point.

So much better use of Bed Tax dollars than building a new TDC office on the beach and calling it a Boardwalk .

FYI PARENTS

Facebook and TikTok just learned that parental controls aren’t the same thing as legal immunity. A court rejected their early attempt to stop thousands of lawsuits from parents and former teens who say addictive features, easy work-arounds and exploitative content damaged young people.

They may be able to fight liability later, but they can’t erase the lawsuits now. A separate child-data trial is scheduled to start Wednesday. If you’ve got kids and grandkids scrolling, pay attention.

The decision deals a setback to platforms fighting claims that their products harm young people.
