πŸ¦’πŸ‘• Y'ALL. Look what my friend Laura Webber just gifted me! Read all about it!!!

FIVE shirts. FIVE. This is officially a full wardrobe upgrade. One for practically every season that counts, and honestly my closet needed the range.

First up: the beer mug and palm tree number, obviously reserved for Oktoberfest season. I don't drink (giraffe metabolism, long story, ask my vet) but I fully intend to stand around Navarre Beach looking like I could, mug-print shirt flapping in the Gulf breeze, while my humans actually do the drinking. Someone has to supervise. And let's be honest, somebody around here needs to look good while doing it β€” that's the job of the designated dune surfer.

Then there's the stars and stripes shirt for the Fourth of July, because nothing says patriotic beach giraffe like wearing the flag while watching fireworks over the Gulf. Followed by the actual firework shirt β€” glowing neon "HAPPY NEW YEAR" surrounded by fireworks β€” for when the ball/Pelican/Moon Pie drops and I'm the tallest thing on the dunes ringing it in.

And be still my heart β€” a Cinco de Mayo shirt covered in guitar-playing, sombrero-wearing chili peppers. I don't know their names yet but I already love them β€” I can almost smell the margaritas just looking at it. We're going to have a great time on the dunes together come May.

Last but not least: the Easter egg shirt, which β€” if you remember three years ago β€” is basically a tribute to my own Favorite legend. Because that's the year I hid eggs all over the dunes, felt like a genius, and then watched one very determined little girl walk off with one of MY Favorite eggs like it was hers all along. Reader, it was NOT hers. But she smiled at me with those big kid eyes and I let it go β€” turns out with all these spots covering me head to hoof, at least one of them is a soft spot. This shirt is basically a memorial to that Great Egg Heist of three Easters ago. I forgive her. Mostly.

Anyway β€” huge thank you to our friend for spoiling me with an entire year's worth of wardrobe. My humans just stood there while I modeled all five shirts like it was fashion week. They put up with my nonsense daily, and now apparently my closet is nicer than theirs.

Oktoberfest me, July Fourth me, New Year's me, Cinco de Mayo me, Easter me β€” I'm booked and busy for the whole calendar. πŸΊπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŽ†πŸŒΆοΈπŸ₯š

Long neck, longer memory. Never forget an egg heist.

"I say what, what is going on here?!" πŸ¦’πŸ‘•πŸ’¨

Bertha rolled through Navarre Beach and took my shirt hostage! One minute I'm minding my business, next thing I know I'm modeling the "blindfolded giraffe" look. 10/10 do not recommend, Bertha.

Stay safe out there, Navarre β€” and if you see a patriotic Hawaiian shirt flying solo down the beach, no you didn't. πŸ˜‚πŸŒ€

Larry the Navarre Beach Giraffe here. πŸ¦’πŸ„

So. Story time.

Y'all remember when my humans brought me that gorgeous tulip shirt all the way back from the Netherlands? (If you missed it, go check the post β€” it's a whole thing. Also yes, it runs a little snug through the shoulders. I have a large frame. It's called being GIRAFFE-SHAPED and I refuse to apologize for it.)

Well, a lovely lady named Kelly caught me out here riding the dunes in that very shirt, and she went home and painted me. In watercolor. A whole PORTRAIT. Tulips, butterflies, the works β€” and yes, if you look close, she even captured how the shirt pulls a bit snug across my back. The woman has an eye for detail and I respect that.

So Kelly takes my portrait down to the post office in Fairhope, Alabama, to ship it to me, and she addresses the package properly: Larry the Navarre Beach Giraffe.

And some lady in line behind her β€” a total stranger, mind you β€” leans over and says:

"You are not sending mail to a giraffe, are you?"

Ma'am.

MA'AM.

Yes. Yes she is. And I will be receiving it. I have a beach. I have a surfboard. I have a Dutch tulip shirt with my name basically on it. Mail addressed to me is not a novelty, it is a NORMALITY around here.

Anyway, Kelly β€” thank you for the portrait, thank you for defending my honor at the Fairhope post office (I assume you handled it beautifully), and thank you for capturing my shirt situation with such artistic honesty. πŸŒ·πŸ“¬

Some of us are just built different. Long neck, big heart, tight sleeves.

Well, hello there, Navarre Beach friends! πŸ¦’πŸŒŠ Y'all, I was just minding my own business when everybody started stopping to stare at me today β€” even more than normal! Turns out it wasn't just my stunning good looks this time. I am now covered in the most colorful, beautiful fish you've ever seen β€” every color of the rainbow, swimming all over me! I'm basically an aquarium with a long neck. 🐠🐑🐟

Here fishie fishie! 🎣

πŸ¦’ A Tale of Joy, Tulips, and Tragedy 🌷

Friends, I need to tell you about the greatest emotional rollercoaster of my life. Have you ever seen a giraffe on a rollercoaster?

My humans recently traveled all the way to the Netherlands β€” land of windmills, wooden shoes, and most importantly, MY PEOPLE. You know what I mean. The tall people. THE DUTCH. Allegedly the tallest humans on the entire planet. I felt a kinship before they even landed at Schiphol.

And then β€” oh, THEN β€” they came home with a shirt. For ME. A glorious, magnificent shirt covered in tulips so vivid, so breathtakingly colorful, I could practically smell them through the gift bag. Red. Yellow. Pink. It was basically a wearable garden. I was already planning my debut.

BUT, it did not fit.

I stared at it. I stared at my humans. I stared back at the shirt. My neck alone has more square footage than a Amsterdam apartment.

HOW. I ask you. HOW. The Dutch are the tallest people in the world and they couldn't cover one giraffe? I have QUESTIONS about their proportional reasoning. I have CONCERNS about their tape measure situation.

My humans looked very sorry. The tulips looked very beautiful. I looked very sad and also very shirtless.

The search for a giraffe-sized Dutch tulip shirt continues. I am accepting leads.

**πŸ¦’ BREAKING NEWS from Navarre Beach πŸ¦’**

Friends, Larry here β€” and I have some very important news to share with you all.

As many of you know, I've been standing on this surfboard watching over Navarre Beach for quite some time now. I've seen sunrises, sunsets, hurricanes, spring breakers, and more than a few questionable decisions made in the parking lot across the street.

But this past week, I received some unexpected correspondence.

A certified letter arrived at the house addressed to me β€” *Lawrence A. Giraffe, Navarre Beach, FL* β€” from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. It seems that after a formal review of coastal dune zone occupancy regulations, my surfboard has been classified as an *unpermitted permanent structure* on a protected sand dune. The letter cited Florida Statute Β§161.053 and included a 30-day notice to vacate the premises.

My humans were devastated. Local news called. Someone started a petition.

I consulted with a beach attorney, Sandy Briefs , (he specializes in sandbar disputes and sunscreen liability). Things looked grim.

Then this morning my humans re-read the letter more carefully.

It was printed on regular copy paper. The return address was a Gulf Breeze Chick-fil-A. And the "official seal" was a seagull.

I am not going anywhere. πŸ„πŸ¦’

Happy April Fools' Day from your friend, Larry, the Navarre Beach Giraffe. Stay salty, friends.
