**π¦ BREAKING NEWS from Navarre Beach π¦**
Friends, Larry here β and I have some very important news to share with you all.
As many of you know, I've been standing on this surfboard watching over Navarre Beach for quite some time now. I've seen sunrises, sunsets, hurricanes, spring breakers, and more than a few questionable decisions made in the parking lot across the street.
But this past week, I received some unexpected correspondence.
A certified letter arrived at the house addressed to me β *Lawrence A. Giraffe, Navarre Beach, FL* β from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. It seems that after a formal review of coastal dune zone occupancy regulations, my surfboard has been classified as an *unpermitted permanent structure* on a protected sand dune. The letter cited Florida Statute Β§161.053 and included a 30-day notice to vacate the premises.
My humans were devastated. Local news called. Someone started a petition.
I consulted with a beach attorney, Sandy Briefs , (he specializes in sandbar disputes and sunscreen liability). Things looked grim.
Then this morning my humans re-read the letter more carefully.
It was printed on regular copy paper. The return address was a Gulf Breeze Chick-fil-A. And the "official seal" was a seagull.
I am not going anywhere. ππ¦
Happy April Fools' Day from your friend, Larry, the Navarre Beach Giraffe. Stay salty, friends.
