On July 25, 2026, at the 40th annual Illinois State Square & Round Dance Convention, our own Janice Cha was inducted into the State Council of Illinois Square Dance Associations (SCISDA) Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is a very prestigious award given to individuals who have served as an active part of square dancing in the State of Illinois, and who have unselfishly volunteered their time and talents to the benefit and promotion of square dancing throughout the State. The Hall of Fame award is intended to recognize outstanding contributions within the square dance activity by individuals operating within the Associations of SCISDA, unselfishly volunteering their time and talents to the benefit and promotion of square dancing; and to record and preserve the history of the square dance activity within the Associations of SCISDA. Through her decades of work encouraging new dancers, supporting local square dance clubs, running four Illinois State Square Dance Conventions, and developing training opportunities and a network of support for new callers, Janice has demonstrated that she is most deserving of this prestigious award.
