📋 The PLC Makes the Program Youth-Led

The Patrol Leaders’ Council (PLC)—led by the senior patrol leader—is where youth leaders plan the troop’s program and activities. Patrol leaders bring ideas from their patrols, helping shape meetings, outings, and the troop’s calendar.

When the PLC leads planning, the troop becomes truly Scout-led.

Next on our count up of the things we’re most looking forward to in 2026…

#2: America’s Semiquincentennial Camporee

2026 marks a historic milestone in American history—the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation—and a highlight of our yearlong celebration will be this special Camporee coming to Camp Workcoeman in May.

The program will be themed around the Culper Spy Ring and will feature acclaimed reenactor Brian Hilton portraying General George Washington. Scouts will step into history as members of the spy ring, completing missions and challenges to collect pieces of a secret code—all in an effort to deliver vital intelligence to General Washington.

This immersive, hands-on experience combines history, adventure, and teamwork in true Scouting fashion.
