VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR A SOCIALLY DISTANCED HAUNTED HOUSE!!
This Halloween, Landmark Community Theatre is excited to present two new THRILLING events at the historic (and purportedly HAUNTED) Thomaston Opera House – and we need YOU to be a part of them!
“Graveside Stories” will take you back in time to the lives - and sometimes peculiar deaths - of some of Thomaston’s earliest citizens. The event begins on the lowest level of Town Hall, directly IN the original site of the town cemetery. In order to permit the construction of the new building in 1883, the remains of the dead were disinterred and moved to a section of Hillside Cemetery, now known as the Ancient Cemetery. Folklore has it that not ALL of the remains were disinterred, and that some of these spirits still remain! Come help us share their stories!
“Theatre of the Macabre” provides a more traditional haunted house experience, but with a theatre-themed twist! Those who are brave enough will make their way through a dark and winding path, encountering scenes and iconic characters from some of Broadway’s most chilling shows, such as Rocky Horror Picture Show, Little Shop of Horris, The Addams Family and more! Both events will culminate in the main theater for brief Halloween-style entertainment before exiting down the main stairs.
Landmark Community Theatre will follow the recommendations of state and local officials, along with guidance from the Torrington Area Health District, to ensure that proper safety, sanitization, and social distancing measures are maintained at all times.
We will need MANY volunteers in order to make these events a success! Those interested in set design/building, costuming, or props, and those who would like to participate as actors in either of these events, are encouraged to message us on FB or email our Volunteer Coordinator, Courtney Deraleau, at [email protected] for more information!
