Our Roots Mixed With Prayer

Our Roots are our hidden strength…
Imagine a tree without roots…
Not much to think about or imagine is there??
No Roots.. No growth!…hence.. no tree..

How about our Prayer Life…?
No prayer?? No foundation… No God… ??
No real Life.. I’m serious.. Adam was alive only because of “God’s Breath!!..”
It was “God’s Breath” …
when He breathed into Adam’s lungs…
That was the beginning of human life
as we know it…
So.. Therefore if there’s No God the Creator..
no breath… no life…We would have no Father in Heaven …No way to Pray…
It would be over before we begin!

Hello My Dear Friends and Family of Tccc
We’re looking at Roots and Prayer
A beautiful Partnership working together…

With our Spiritual Roots and consistent prayer life …
We know that’s how we keep our Faith strong…
We know what to focus on… We know that just because we have Faith in God… That doesn’t make our life a bed of roses.. or maybe we have roses.. but the thorns on the stems haven’t been stripped off!!.. Yes..we will still have bumps in the road and pot- holes to dodge😉
(We live in Michigan after all)…But…
Our Prayer life helps us to endure life’s storms..
And our Roots are our hidden strength….
The harder the wind blows the more the roots have to grab into the earth and Hold On
Harder!!… As the treetops swing above the ground..The Roots take a tighter hold beneath..
Hidden from our human view.

Here at Tccc we have a forest of trees.. We know about roots… not only do our tree roots grow beneath the ground.. if you’ve ever mowed lawn here.. you know they grow above the ground too!!!.. And if you’re a first time mower here …you won’t like the surprises of a hidden root in the grass that messes up the whole Lawn Mower!!… The sound is awful.. and the bill for repairs at Evart’s isn’t cheap!…..
But.. just as the trees need to be deeply Rooted and grounded…in good soil…We too need to be rooted and grounded in the good soil of our hearts.. where we have planted the life-giving
Seed of God’s Word…
(But beware of hidden objects-devil’s schemes)
GOD..helps us to pray earnest prayers.. He helps us to get back to basics.. He reminds us that we need to Remember that He alone is our Source..Our Provider ..Our Shelter in storms
It’s only Him that makes us who we are.

Charles and I were talking today on our way home from the Soo…(from picking up a new Microwave that gave up its life in The Meeting Place last night!.) About the clothes he wore as a child.. and how big he dreamed of what he would have some day… and that some days his Dad would bring him down a peg or two and remind him that he was getting “too big for his britches”…

Sometimes we have to be humbled too…
Sometimes remembering where we came from… where our spiritual roots are.. and for sure.. getting back on our knees to pray to our Heavenly Father is where Our Partnership with God grows…
In Jeremiah 17:7-8 scripture says..
“But blessed is the one who Trusts in the Lord..whose confidence is in Him…They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.. The tree does not fear when heat comes…its leaves are always green…
It has no worries in a year of drought and it never fails to bear fruit “

Roots that go down deep are an invisible source of nourishment and strength..
A tree with Roots will keep producing good results even in difficult circumstances…

You and I will Choose to Trust God over human strength or reasoning… We have no reason to compare faiths… There is One True Father God in Heaven.. One True God and Creator of Heavens and Earth…
We Trust You
We Trust You
We Trust You Lord we do
We never have to worry that we might not make it through.. because.. We Trust You ..
We trust You.. We Trust You Lord we do..
And because We know We Love You
We will always Trust In You..

Tccc Sunday August 23, 2026
How Does Water Change Us?

Genesis Chapter One
In the Beginning God created the heavens and the earth… The earth was without form…and it was void..and darkness was on the face of the deep…. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters….
Then… God said..”Let there be light” .. and there was light…And God saw the light…and it was good…and God divided the light from the darkness God called this …Day for the light .. and night for the darkness …So the evening and the morning were the First day
Then God said, “ Let there be firmament ….
( like a dome)
In the midst of the waters…and let it divide the waters from the waters…So…God
Made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament…and from above the waters …
which were above the firmament…
And it was so…And God called the Firmament
Heaven.. So evening and morning were the second day…
Then on the third day …God said..”Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place…and let the dry land appear”…
And so it was…And God called the dry land Earth…and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas ..And God saw that it was good

You really need to take time and read these verses again .. all of them..and look up the parts you don’t truly understand…

When creation gets to day 3 I’m already hooked!!…As we know …Nothing is sustained without Water..
Our bodies are mostly water.. All of our sea life can only exist in water… all of our plants and crops require Water…All human & animal life require water…
Think of all the things we mix with Water before they become a usable product…
We could go on & on for pages!!!

Not to mention our rivers .. lakes And forests…
Our Recreation times often include Water activities of some kind!!
Sports… how many can you mention that
Require Water???

Dear Friends and Families of Tccc…
This weekend we had a small road trip .. and outside the doorway of our room…was a small recirculating pump/ pond with a mini waterfall…
Not big.. not much… but enough to create a sound… It was a small circumference.. lined with fieldstone rocks…and some water Iris planted along the edges… The birds flitted from tree to tree.. ( in abundance)and they were actually very noisy😉.. However.. a joy to witness…

As I watched the water tumble over the ledges
and fall effortlessly into the pond .. it reminded me of the many times our lives seem to flow smoothly and then all of a sudden there’s a drop off… or a blockage that keeps the water from flowing freely… Usually that drop off or the rocks (obstacles) that get in the way cause a disturbance.. or a Noise as the water continues to press Forward…
And forward the water does Push!!
Have you ever tried to stop or reroute a stream of water… it’s not easy…It has a path it wants to follow… Water will follow a path which has the least resistance….
When water rushes over rocks .. in a controlled motion it has the most calming effect on our senses… Close your eyes and listen to the bubbles and trickles….It is Good…

If water didn’t have to go over or around something.. it probably wouldn’t make a sound…. Somehow… the disturbance creates an awareness ….There’s something to overcome…
Something to Go Over….

Waves on US 2 are a beautiful sight when you’re driving by them… Each wave pushes hard to get past the one in front of it…There are sometimes stormy skies and waves.. even abrupt angry white caps on top.. frothing at the mouth… not a pretty blue.water…. nor are they calming..
more like a warning sign.. causing deep thoughts sometimes…

Water Changes things… it changes landscapes
Beach erosion… etches little islands and causes them to divide… or.. pushes the sand into a narrow nook and closes a passage way…
Water and gravity pull can cause an undertow that will take you away from shore .. it will be so strong…that you’re not strong enough to fight your way back..

Water is life sustaining… water is beautiful..
Water is dangerous..
Water was the substance of Jesus’ First Miracle.
When we received Jesus as our Lord and Savior
We were given the opportunity for a water Baptism.. ( or I hope you were)..I was….
I’ll never forget going down under in the pool and coming up and out with the biggest Smile ever… I professed my Faith publicly so everyone knew .. I Love Jesus.. and that He is my Savior!!!

Water changed me that day…
John the Baptist Performed that same action with Jesus…. Good enough for Jesus
Good enough for me…..

God…. Created… and called Water to “Be”
God told it where to be.. and what to do….
He’s still doing the same thing for us today…
If we Watch and Listen…
How does water affect you??…
List how many ways you enjoy and use Water
You will be amazed
Without God…We would have no such benefits!

I am Thankful today to be able to say..
Thank You Jesus for Water…
Thank You Jesus for teaching me ..
and showing me..how to Flow like Water…
Around obstacles… over the rocks….
Up above or down below… finding a way to get through… making a way in the wilderness…
Being a part of something bigger than me…
From a little stream … I can find away to reach the Big Water…I can be a part of the Refreshing.
I am So Thankful ❤️
Water changed me…when Jesus raised me up!!

Another busy week…. Beds are changed and
Fresh towels are in the cupboards and shelves..
It’s going to be cooler this next week…
So fresh blankets may feel good.

Exciting and sad … leaves are starting to color.
It doesn’t seem possible.. but it’s true…

We have some heavy duty prayer requests this week… please include Tccc Families in your prayer journal…God is Bigger than all tragedies
Sicknesses or Diseases .. but it’s not easy getting through some of life’s trials…
Strength.. Courage..Love…Faith…
It takes all we can muster sometimes..

We Always Thank Him no matter our different difficulties or circumstances.. Amen.. Amen..

Tccc Sunday August 16, 2026 The Word I Heard last Sunday was “Transition”

Lots of Changes.. Daily.. Weekly..Monthly.. Yearly… Even Decades full of Transitions…
You would think we would be used to the Changes… but You and I both like our own Comfortable Spaces…Things we’re used to..
Our Routines… Cozy Corners…Familiar things
Some things we have are a Reflection of who we are…

Hello Dear Friends.. Family.. and Acquaintances
Of Tccc in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan!
It’s been a Beautiful week here in the North
Country… Lots of sun.. a few raindrops..
Cooler nights for sleeping…
The flowers have been so beautiful ..
Such a joy to see God’s paint brush painting..
And our birds are finally becoming more plentiful…Charles has more bird feeders than Carters has liver pills… and he keeps them full with different kinds of seeds for every species of bird that could be here!!
Finches..Bluejays.. Woodpeckers..Blue Buntings
Grosbeaks..Chickadees..Nuthatches..
Cedar waxwings..Gold Finches…you name it..
he’s got it… oh and Peanuts for them too😉

Sitting on the front porch… just watching the trees…Bird feeders and the Bird Bath…
Yes …We are learning to take more time..

Navigating our seasons of Transitions requires Faith to leave the familiar…Learning to Trust in the presence of God through our unknowns.
Each of our Wilderness experiences are different.. and they should be.. because we are.
Our timing and ability to be ready to. ”let go”…
Let Go of old mindsets… Why ??
Because God has prepared us for
New Destinations…
I’ve never known when exactly Tccc and We became one…We just always were
No beginning time and no end time…

No matter our ages.. God has us in His mind…
If you doubt me look at Abraham…
Abraham received his call to leave ..way late
In his life..God told Abraham to leave his native country for a land he would be shown “ later”..
Transition starts with obedience and movement..

I’ve lived in a Wilderness Classroom (literally)
For a lot of years…
We bought This land in 2000…We started developing it 2005-2006…
Sold our house and moved here to work on it full time in 2013.. with no Water and no Electricity.
The space and time between where we were and where God had us going.. was not wasted time…These were the days God was reshaping our Focus.. our Vision and our Character…

We had to Cross the Jordan…
We had to learn to Trust God.. To have enough Faith to venture into uncharted waters…
When everything seems impossible..
But God..

Transition also means that your journey or trip
Has limited space for your old Belongings
Things like…Old habits..Bitterness..old systems..
We’re getting ready for a New Season …

Keeping our eyes Fixed on God..Only He Leads.
We are so programmed to lean on our own understanding…

Growth can be a difficult part of our Transition..
Growth can feel uncomfortable..What happens when you’re outgrowing your Space??
There will be challenges…What you could do before…well- your space is too small..now what?
That could be a signal to prepare for change..

Back when we designed our last T- Shirts..
Pete wanted the Big Mac Bridge on the front..
He wanted to emphasize the Lower Peninsula and the Upper Peninsula as being joined…
He wanted it to be a dual meaning…
The caption on the T-Shirt read
“ Going to the Other Side”
Of course the Other side on the Bridge was obvious…But the message was also…
Accepting Jesus as your personal Savior
And leaving worldly things behind …Crossing over to Jesus’ ways of living and Receiving Heaven as your Eternal Home…
Going to The Other Side… and he did…

Crossing over ..like the Israelites crossed over the Jordan River .. signifies leaving an old life behind..to enter New territory..A new job…

Transitions are rarely instant…God uses the space between Egypt (bondage)..and the
Promised Land (fulfillment) to strip away our old mindsets.. to build our endurance..and reshape our character…

Our Spirit becomes Renewed in our Transition..
We have a personal shift inside of us.. we change from our old way of living..to walking in the Spirit..A Transforming Transition can move a Believer.. A practicing Christian …
into a New Maturity in Faith with Jesus….
with A Renewed Spiritual depth…

Isaiah 43:19
He is doing a new thing..God makes pathways in the Wilderness and Rivers and Wasteland..

Deuteronomy 31:8
He goes ahead of you..
God will not leave or abandon us during our
Seasons and Shifts

Ecclesiastes 3:1
There is a time for everything
Every Season and Activity under Heaven has an appointed time

Romans 8:28
He works things for good
( for those that Love Him)
Believers are assured that God works all circumstances together for a purposeful good…
We have to love Him… We Choose…
He can’t help those who don’t..

In our new role with Jesus ..
We learn to Pray instead of Worry…
We Trust God to Guard our heart
Philippians 4:6-7

Be Courageous like Joshua 1:9 commands
Move forward without fear…because God is with you wherever you go…

Finally….. Trust His Pace…
Rest in the Truth that His character does not change even when our surroundings do😇🙏

Are you facing a “Season of transition?”
Us too…..It’s the Circle of Life…
Sometimes I feel like I’m gonna break..
So I fall on my knees and say……
“ Lord.. I need You right now
Come and turn this around..
“ Come Jesus Come… let Today be the day…

Fear not… for the Lord our God says..
“ I am with you..”.
“You can do this.”😇🙏🙏and Yes ..Yes we can

Friends .. it is the middle of August…
School has started…Let the race begin!!
Slow down long enough to know what our children and grandchildren’s lives are about..
These are precious years… hold on tight…

We are praying for all of you that are within
the sound and communication lines of our message.. as far as we can reach !!
Plus in all he heavenly realms….
With Divine appointments … Glory to God…
God.. pull everyone in to hear You….

We have done some moving of things.. & we’ve got more to do.. a couple of short road trips..
Then back on Campus for people…Busy times.

Great Praise Reports from you..and some endearing encouragement from you folks out there… Thank you..It means lot to us
Prayer Requests too.. my Niece Linda is fighting cancer .. the reports aren’t what we receive…
She’s a fighter.. and she is fighting…
Together our prayers are stronger..
Jesus is her Healer.. she’s been bought and paid for.. a precious child of God…Thank you
For believing for her healing with us.

Jesus takes away all our pain and makes us whole again Jesus is our Healer right now…😇
