Merry Christmas West End!! It is our great pleasure to announce that the innagural winner of the Susan Rice Community Compassion Award has been decided! It was a very tough decision, as there were so many worthy nominations from so many thoughtful members of our community. We landed on this person because the range of her volunteer work is ataggering enough to set her apart from the pack. She exemplifies the spirit of this award through her constant display of compassion toward all members of our community, even the four legged ones. Her love of the West End is a strength that fuels her passion for life and calls her to pick up the slack and fill in the gaps whenever she hears the call. She’s a silent warrior with a love in her heart that has a visible and lasting impact on the community she serves. The West End is a better place with her in it, and that is why we are honored to tell you all how much we love you, Vicki Allen! Vicki, you are the winner of this heart felt award! We see you and all the wonderful things you do for us here in the West End and we lift you up this Holiday Season and ask those of you who know Vicki to join us in congratulating her on this well deserved gesture of gratitude. Vicki was surprised with a gift basket, a poinsettia, and some balloons. She will also decide on what local nonprofit to give the $500 check to, which will be announced in February at the Chamber Banquet. Congratulations, Vicki! Keep up the good work!!
