The Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve has long offered people a place to play, learn, and connect with nature and each other. For this year’s California State Parks Week, we honor the idea that everyone, regardless of ability, can enjoy new experiences in nature. Join us to celebrate improved accessibility at the Tijuana Estuary for visitors with disabilities and our ongoing commitment to expanding access. Activities will include the launch of a self-guided, wayfinding tour using the app Navilens for visitors who are blind or low vision, ASL-interpreted nature walks, a speaker presentation, and community partner booths.
This celebration is free and welcome to all ages. The Visitor Center and trails are wheelchair accessible, and sensory kits and quiet spaces will be available.
Interpreters will be from DCS!
