New England Sci-Tech is a non-profit STEM+ education center dedicated to project-based, hands-on learning programs for adults and youth, including scouts, homeschoolers, and after school students. We are a group of experienced teachers, engineers, artists, makers, inventors, and licensed amateur radio operators, providing educational programs to families, students, schools, scout groups, home schools, and other educational or public service groups.

One of our rising stars poses with antennas she built as part of NEST's Radio Astronomy & Satellites Workshop. Students built various types of antennas to capture and digitize radio signals from planes, satellites, and astronomical objects. The 18-session workshop was developed and taught by Rye Hogan, a student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). Next year we plan to offer this workshop in 3-week modules from September through June.

STARS members work with our satellite communication station to attempt to break in on the ISS repeater during a pass on Saturday. Systems are working very well, but was a little too crowded this time!
