Phoenix Masonic Lodge Installs New Officers

Phoenix Lodge #38 of Natchitoches held their annual officer installation on the evening of December 16th. The lodge members enjoyed a great fried fish dinner then held the installation ceremony, led by Right Worshipful J. Keith Gates, Grand Junior Warden of the Grand Lodge of Louisiana Free and Accepted Masons.

Today in 1807, Louisiana Lodge No. 109, what is believed to be the first Masonic Lodge west of the Mississippi River, had their first meeting at Green Tree Tavern. A memorial to the lodge founders overlooks the tavern where they had their first meeting.

Phoenix Lodge #38 Donates To LA Masonic Scholarship Fund

Phoenix Lodge #38 Free & Accepted Masons held an open meeting in their lodge hall on Monday, August 29th. After dinner, a check for $1,000 to the Louisiana Masonic Scholarship Fund from Phoenix Lodge. District Deputy Grand Master Roy Paul Wright accepted it on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Louisiana F&AM.
