Several Natchitoches Lions Club members participated in the recent Lions Children’s Camp Board Meeting held in Gonzales. Lion Mimi Stoker was installed as the Board’s 2nd Vice President and Lion Michele Waskom was installed as a Short Term Representative. Lion Nicole Woods is also serving as an 8L Director and co-chair of the Marketing and Communications Committee.

The Natchitoches Lions Club was also honored to present a donation to the Camp as a result of their recent Roaring Lion Classic Golf Tournament. Tournament organizer, Lion Sammy Woods, presented check to Louisiana Lions Camp Board President Helen Lemoine.

Natchitoches Lions meet on Mondays at noon in the Listach Room of NRMC. If you are interested in participating in an organization that serves the community and supports the Louisiana Lions Camp, consider joining us at an upcoming meeting or contacting any Lions Club member.

Give a child a blank page, art supplies and one big question: What does peace look like to you? 🎨🌍

For nearly 40 years, the Lions International Contest has helped young artists share their answers with the world. Their creativity sparks conversations about kindness and tolerance, builds confidence, and brings communities together around a more hopeful future.

Lions, you have until October 1 to purchase a kit and bring the contest to young artists in your community: https://bit.ly/4xPcXj4

🦁⛳ THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE INAUGURAL ROARING LIONS CLASSIC A SUCCESS!

The clubs have been put away, the scores have been counted and the first-ever Roaring Lions Classic Golf Tournament is officially in the books!

An event like this doesn’t happen without a community of businesses, organizations and individuals willing to step up and support the Natchitoches Lions Club. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make our inaugural tournament a success.

A huge Lions ROAR of thanks to our event sponsors:

🏆 Title Sponsor: BOM Bank
🥤 Beverage Cart Sponsor: Boise Cascade
🍳 Breakfast Sponsor: Tasty Boy
⛳ Putting Green Sponsor: Clint Perot III, Edward Jones
🏌️ Driving Range Sponsor: Natchitoches Community Care

🪧 Hole Sponsors:
• DA Billy Joe Harrington
• Natchitoches Parish Council on Aging
• Weeks Tractor
• The Harrington Law Firm
• Trey Dowden, 8L District Governor
• 3-P Auto Sales
• Anderson Appraisals
• Stoker Hollow
• Will Adams, Edward Jones

And the support didn’t stop there! Jake Cooper, Edward Jones Financial Advisor, helped provide great prizes, Eagle Distributors provided our Closest to the Pin prizes, Links on the Bayou contributed to our prize packages, Boise Cascade contributed to our prize package in addition to sponsoring the Beverage Cart and Tee It Up Golf provided prizes for our “Most Honest Golfers”—because every tournament needs an award for the team that spent the most time getting their money’s worth out of the course! 😂⛳ Pour Decisions also brought a little extra fun to the day.

A special shoutout goes to the Team Green by VCD Green at Visual Concepts & Designs for helping us create the merchandise and swag that made our inaugural tournament look first-class from start to finish.

Behind the scenes, tournament organizer Sammy Woods and more than a dozen Natchitoches Lions Club members gave their time, energy and plenty of hard work to turn an idea for an inaugural tournament into a fantastic day on the course. And a very special thank you to Lion Chuck Stoker, who worked the grill all day making sure everyone was well fed! 🍔🦁

And finally, THANK YOU TO OUR GOLFERS! You showed up, played hard, had fun and supported the work of the Natchitoches Lions Club. Ultimately, that is what this tournament was all about—raising funds that allow Lions to continue serving our community and supporting the causes that mean so much to us.

From our sponsors and supporters to our volunteers and golfers, YOU made year one possible.

🦁⛳ The inaugural Roaring Lions Classic gave us plenty to ROAR about—and we can’t wait to see you back on the course next year!

⛳🦁 What a way to kick off the INAUGURAL Roaring Lions Classic!

The first-ever Roaring Lions Classic Golf Tournament is officially in the books and we couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who helped make it a success!

A huge thank you to Tournament Organizer Lion Sammy Woods, whose planning, hard work and countless hours helped turn an idea into an incredible day on the course. Sammy was joined by more than a dozen Natchitoches Lions Club members who volunteered their time to keep everything running—from registration and breakfast to carts, contests, food and all the details in between.

And, of course, thank you to our golfers, sponsors and community partners! Your participation and generosity allow the Natchitoches Lions Club to continue supporting the Louisiana Lions Camp, vision initiatives and service projects right here in our community.

These photos capture plenty of smiles, a little friendly competition and maybe a few golf shots we won’t talk about. 😂⛳

Most importantly, they capture what Lions do best: serve together, have a little fun and make a difference.

Thank you for making year ONE of the Roaring Lions Classic one to remember. We have a feeling this is just the beginning! 🦁💜💛
