Today, NYP had the incredible opportunity to meet with the freshman students in Presidential Leadership Program (PLP) at Northwestern State University for a speed networking event designed to bridge the gap between students and local professionals.

With nearly 50 local employers in attendance, PLP students rotated through fast-paced, one-on-one conversations. They had the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions, learn about career paths, and gain valuable insight into what it takes to thrive professionally. It was a fantastic way to introduce them to the art of networking and help them get comfortable with interview-style interactions.

Local Professionals & Employers — We Need You!

The Natchitoches Young Professionals and NSULA’s President’s Leadership Program are partnering for a Speed Networking Event, and we’re looking for business leaders like YOU to participate.

Date: Tuesday, April 15
Time: 11:00 AM – 12:15 PM
Location: Friedman Student Union Ballroom, NSULA

This fast-paced event gives PLP students the opportunity to connect with local professionals in a series of short, engaging conversations. We’re seeking employers and industry leaders who are open to sharing insights, answering student questions, and helping them explore potential career paths.

What You’ll Need:
- Business cards or company info to share
- A willingness to engage with students for 2–3 minutes each
- Business casual attire
- A positive, encouraging attitude

🎉 Huge shoutout to FAUNA - Friends All United for Natchitoches Animals for an amazing Pub Crawl event this year! 🎉

We had a blast helping run the Poker Run, and we couldn’t be more excited to have been part of the transition to of the event to FAUNA. The energy was ELECTRIC and it was so much fun seeing everyone come together for a great cause.
