✨ Meet the Director of the Christmas Angels: Miss Katelyn Yopp! ✨
Katelyn is a Natchitoches native and a 2018 graduate of St. Mary’s School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Louisiana Monroe in fall 2021 and a Master of Social Work from Louisiana State University in August 2024. She is currently working toward becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Katelyn is no stranger to the Christmas Angels program! She served as a Christmas Angel in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010. She later represented the City of Natchitoches as a 2018 Christmas Belle.
Her pageant journey also includes being crowned Miss Natchitoches Outstanding Teen 2014 and Miss City of Lights 2023. Katelyn competed in the Miss Louisiana’s Teen and Miss Louisiana organizations for many years, earning a place in the Top 10 at Miss Louisiana in 2024. She has also held numerous fair and festival titles throughout the state.
After retiring from competition, Katelyn found a new passion on the other side of the stage...mentoring and encouraging the next generation. This year marks her fifth year directing the Christmas Angels, a program that has held a special place in her heart since childhood.
Katelyn currently resides in Shreveport, where she serves as a districtwide social worker for Caddo Parish Schools. She is also engaged to Kyelor Coburn.
As director, Katelyn hopes every little girl has the opportunity to experience the magic of the Natchitoches Christmas season, build lasting friendships and learn what it means to be a positive role model for others.
