Our Elementary students have been collecting canned fruit over the last month to donate to the Natchez Stewpot. Our goal is 1,000 cans. Currently we are 196 cans short. The deadline is TOMORROW. If we reach our goal, PreK-6th grade students will have a free dress day in the weeks to come! Check your pantry or grab a can of fruit at the store today, to help support the Natchez Stewpot!!

This was a HHHUUGGEEE weekend for us at The Stewpot. It was a full community buy-in kind of weekend for us. Our community is who makes The Stewpot possible.
The bi-annual Empty Bowls event happened where over $19,000 was raised for The Stewpot! We love our people and could not be more grateful for all their work. And the pottery & gumbo was next level!
But that’s not all! First Baptist Church Natchez served for the first time Sunday morning feeding those in our community. We are so thankful to Liz Farmer and everyone at who served and who will in the future. We love having more of our community be a part of things.

Been gettin it since 730 this morning. Preparing to serve what will likely be 400+ meals today. It’s the busiest day of the year for The Stewpot.
Lots of food. Lots of help. Last of thankfulness.

P.S. Our crew will be back tomorrow and every day after that as well because The Stewpot is running 365 days a year. If you’re thankful for them, let’s hear it in the comments. Or better yet — show up and help some time in the next year.

Things are being prepped and ready to go for the biggest day of the year here at the Stewpot.

As I walk in this morning, one of our regular volunteers Charles says to me “Are you gonna have breakfast with us?” he had taken some of the extra eggs, bread and grits that we had received recently and made breakfast for everyone working/volunteering this morning. Why? Because that’s just who Charles is. People like Charles are why the Stewpot has been such a staple of the Natchez community for so long.

As we gear up for our 38th Thanksgiving, we are beyond thankful for the community support, volunteers, and our workers – especially Ms Johnnie who’s been with us almost 36 years!
