💼 The Miss-Lou Job Fair is coming back to Natchez!

Creating jobs and connecting our citizens with good opportunities remains an important priority for the City of Natchez. We are proud to once again partner with the Mississippi Department of Employment Security and the Governor’s Job Fair Network of Mississippi to host the 2026 Miss-Lou Job Fair.

📅 Thursday, September 24
⏰ 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
📍 Natchez Convention Center, 211 Main Street

Last year’s Miss-Lou Job Fair brought together 35 businesses and 340 job seekers. By the end of the day, 51 job offers had been made on the spot, with employers projecting 205 total hires as a result of connections made during the event.

We’re looking forward to building on that success this year.
Employers: Registration is open now at www.jobfairs.ms.gov⁠ , with a September 11 deadline to register without a late fee.

Job seekers: Admission is free, and no advance registration is required. Now is a great time to update your resume, make a few copies, and get ready to meet employers who are hiring.
The City of Natchez is proud to support opportunities that help our citizens find work, help local businesses grow, and strengthen the economy of Natchez and the entire Miss-Lou.

💚💙 AJFC: Part of the Journey, Not Always the Final Destination

In this video, Ms. Treneissia Blanton reminds us of something important: sometimes AJFC is a stepping stone—a place where people have an opportunity to serve, learn, grow, gain experience, and prepare for the next chapter of their journey.

And that is something worth celebrating.

As Ms. Blanton prepares to begin a new chapter in her professional journey, we could not be prouder of her. During her time with AJFC, she has contributed to our mission, served our communities, grown professionally, and become an important part of the AJFC story.

Just as we want our clients to leave AJFC stronger, more confident, and better prepared for what comes next, we want the very same for our team members. Community Action is about helping people move forward, and that commitment should extend to everyone who is part of the work.

We want our employees to grow, develop their skills, embrace new opportunities, and know that their time at AJFC helped prepare them for their next level.

🍽️📚💙 Supporting Small Businesses and Celebrating Literacy!

As a part of AJFC’s mission, we are proud to support small businesses while also investing in opportunities that strengthen our communities.

A special thank you to Morgan’s Catering of Natchez, Mississippi and JJ&S Catering Services of Fayette, Mississippi, for preparing and serving the delicious meal that everyone enjoyed at Literacy Night!

We were also excited to give books away to students who attended, including titles by authors such as Bobbie Chambliss, Jalisa Raye, Charles Buck, Tracy Hartwell, Mavis Sockwell, and Logan Sockwell.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening meaningful for our children and families. When we support small businesses and promote literacy, we help build stronger communities.
