The Nassau County Police Explorers recently participated in the Police Activity League’s “Unity in the Community” event. Our Explorers took on key roles, guiding traffic, providing tours, and ensuring smooth operations throughout the day.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the police officers who were present and supported the event, helping foster a positive connection between law enforcement and the community.

We are incredibly proud of our Nassau County Police Explorers, who played a central role in the success of the NCPD Annual Open House. Throughout the event, our Explorers demonstrated outstanding leadership, professionalism, and commitment to service by guiding attendees, answering questions, and ensuring each station was welcoming and well-organized.

Their active involvement allowed guests to smoothly navigate the various department exhibits, learn about the important work of the NCPD, and feel at ease while engaging with officers and staff. The positive feedback from attendees was a testament to the Explorers’ dedication and the friendly, inclusive atmosphere they helped create.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Nassau County Police Department for hosting this valuable event and for providing our Explorers with the chance to serve the community in such a meaningful way. Special recognition goes to every Police Explorer in attendance—your enthusiasm, reliability, and teamwork truly made a difference.

The Nassau County Police Explorers were honored to participate in the NYA Spring Competition. Our explorers dedicated themselves to rigorous preparation, demonstrating initiative, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence in every aspect of the event. Their hard work was evident throughout the competition, and we are proud of the outstanding performances of all teams involved.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our advisors for their unwavering support and guidance, and to each explorer for their dedication and professionalism. The Nassau County Police Explorers recently participated in ExCon in Las Vegas, where our Explorers competed in a series of simulated police scenarios alongside peers from across the nation. Throughout the competition, our explorers demonstrated outstanding professionalism, discipline, and skill, standing out and reflecting the high standards of their training and the values of our department.

We are sincerely grateful and humbled to have received the invitation to ExCon. Thank you to the event organizers for providing this exceptional opportunity for growth and collaboration.

Nassau County Police Explorers, St. Patrick’s Day Parade, March 15th, 2026.

On Sunday, March 15th, 2026, the Nassau County Police Explorers participated in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, marching with pride and exemplifying an outstanding standard for our program. They were joined by the Nassau County Police Honor Guard and Police Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder, who handed out toys to the community and spread joy.

This parade could not have been done without the tremendous help from the Nassau County Police Department, which provided coordination and support for the parade. In addition, we would like to extend our gratitude to Police Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder. And all of our Explorers in attendance. On Thursday, February 26th, 2026, the Nassau County Police Explorers proudly gathered for their annual promotion ceremony. A special occasion dedicated to celebrating growth, achievement, and dedication. Each Explorer was recognized not only for their individual accomplishments and progress within the program, but also for the positive impact they have made on their peers and the community. Those who demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment were honored with well-deserved promotions, highlighting their outstanding contributions and setting a high standard for all of our explorers. This ceremony serves as a reminder of the hard work, resilience, and spirit that define our Explorers and propel the program forward.

Nassau County Police Explorers, NYA Winter Competition, February 21st, 2026.

On February 21st, 2026, the Nassau County Police Explorers proudly participated in the NYA Winter Competition. During this event, our teams engaged in a series of police officer-oriented scenarios designed to test their skills and knowledge. These scenarios included Arrest and Search, Bomb Threat Response, Burglary Investigation, Crime Prevention, Crime Scene Management, Crisis Negotiation, Domestic Incident Response, Emergency First Aid for Officer Down, Traffic Stop Procedures, and White Collar Crime Investigation. Our drill teams also played a heavy role in this event.

Nassau County Police Explorers, NYA Winter Competition, February 21st, 2026.
