We would like to welcome back the returning members of our Death Drop! cast, which is just about everyone! It’s an honor to work with a team that trusts us enough to do this wacky show together again.

From the musical geniuses at Amm Skellars, Nashville's "only 100% human theater company" brings us 'I Saw Goody Proctor With the Devil.' Anyone who saw their musical 'Silver Platter!' in the 2023 festival will tell you how hilarious and talented this group of artists is. This new piece is a take on the Salem Witch trials that's sure to give us the we didn't know we needed.

Shawn Whitsell is no stranger to Nashville's stages. His festival piece, 'Within Reach', was created in collaboration with other artists to shine a light on the violence of the prison industrial complex. Whitsell's past work is characterized by a focus on injustices and giving voice to those whom society tries to silence. Have a transformative experience in the Darkhorse Theater.

Suspended Gravity is Nashville's premier company for aerial entertainment. Their new show 'All In!' will guide audiences through a dreamy casino full of surreal experiences and increasing antes. Come for the whimsy, stay for the pure talent.

And then, there's us! Our own River Timms wrote a play(?) called 'Magical Journey', an isekai about two q***r stoners who smoke a strain of w**d that transports them to the medieval kingdom of Winterberry. There's gonna be rock music, there's gonna be sword fights, there's gonna be dragons, there's gonna be romance, what more could you ask for? 'Magical Journey' continues Woven's tradition of bombastic, non-traditional theatrical experiences AND our commitment to producing new works.

Who We Are

Woven Theatre was started in 2016 by a trio of young directors yearning to create. Together they put on their first season, producing four projects in the span of three months. Unlike many theatre companies, Woven Theatre strayed away from the standard model involving a board of directors and instead created an Artistic Council. Being founded by three directors, the thought of an Artistic Director didn't seem to make sense. Woven Theatre wanted to be a collection of artists that came together to create and grow.

Young artists are hungry. They strive to be everywhere and do everything at once because opportunities are precious, and they fear passing them up. Woven Theatre gives them a chance to create art on nothing but that tenacity. Woven Theatre seeks to provide unique, artistic opportunities for young people to explore and find their artistic identity and tell the stories they are passionate about.

Woven Theatre is dedicated to the production and development of new art by young artists. We want to provide opportunities for young artist to continue to grow and develop in Nashville.
