Project LEAD Basketball begins September 20 at Watkins Park Community Center

Student participants:
You will have an opportunity to earn a $500 checking account.
You will learn on and off the court, regardless of skill level.
You will pinpoint your strengths and possible career paths.
You will gain a better understanding of finance and investment.

You will map the leadership qualities within you.

From our founder, Marcel Hernandez:
You could say our beloved Rico was a founding member. He helped cultivate the peace in my heart that opened it to founding Be About Change, by helping me through a difficult time in life. Rico crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Halloween 2024 in the loving embrace of his family, at home. It was an honor to be charged with his care. And truthfully, it was him that cared for us. While my mind is sad, my heart is full and eternally grateful. Here are some lessons I learned from him:

Love people no matter what
Always seek to comfort and coregulate
Be happy
Take care of your loved ones
Guard your home
Play
Forgive
Don’t hold grudges
Stay strong for those around you
See the goodness in others
Always be grateful
