✨ That’s a wrap on SCALI 2026! ✨

What an incredible few days of connection, learning, celebration, and looking ahead to what’s next for school counseling across Tennessee!

Today, we were proud to celebrate our TSCA School Counselor of the Year, LaVita Winfield, and our Administrator of the Year, Dawn Cox! 🎉 Their leadership and commitment to students and school counselors are so deserving of recognition.

We also wrapped up two successful TSCA breakout sessions filled with meaningful conversations about what our members need, the work happening across our state, and where we’re headed next. We are leaving SCALI with new ideas, valuable feedback, and plenty of excitement about what’s ahead for Tennessee school counselors.

And what better way to close out the conference than an energizing keynote from Terri Tchorzynski on the school counselor + administrator “dream team,” complete with a playbook of successful strategies for building partnerships that make a difference for students.

Thank you to everyone who connected with TSCA, shared your voice, asked questions, joined the conversation, and spent these last few days learning alongside us.

SCALI 2026 may be over, but we’re just getting started. No Limits.

What a fantastic first full day at SCALI! ✨

Yesterday, we kicked things off with an inspiring keynote from Dr. Michael McGill, who shared a powerful message about the importance of community, recognizing our strengths, and harnessing those strengths to help overcome compassion fatigue. Throughout the day, attendees also had the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow through so many wonderful breakout sessions.

And there’s still more ahead! 🙌

Today brings three more rounds of breakout sessions with a variety of topics to choose from, including two sessions from TSCA:

8:00 AM | State of the Profession: Tennessee School Counseling
Join TSCA Executive Director Dr. Karen Whidby and Assistant Board Chair Dr. Rhonda Hill as they share findings and data from TSCA’s State of the Profession Survey, giving us a closer look at what school counselors across Tennessee are telling us about the profession.

9:30 AM | Connect with TSCA: Meet Your Leaders, Share Your Voice, Shape the Future
Come explore the resources TSCA has to offer, learn more about our committees and the work they’re doing, find out how you can get involved, and hear some exciting announcements about what’s ahead for TSCA. Attendees will also have an opportunity to connect directly with TSCA leaders through roundtable conversations, including a conversation with Board Chair, Shanna Cochran, about what you would like to see from TSCA and how we can continue making membership more valuable to Tennessee school counselors.

We’re looking forward to another full day of learning, connection, and collaboration at SCALI! 💚
