The top source of saturated fat in the American diet is dairy products, which is associated with type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Scientific evidence shows that milk and other dairy products increase the risk of asthma, breast, ovarian, and prostate cancers, cognitive decline, and offer little if any protection for bone health. The countries with the highest rates of osteoporosis are where people drink the most milk. Because milk is acidic, it leaches the calcium from our bones. 👩🔬🦴🫀
Milk isn't necessary for our nutritional requirements. There's plenty of calcium, riboflavin, phosphorous and protein in plant foods like oranges, spinach, asparagus, brussel sprouts, kale, bok choy, chia seeds, nuts, quinoa, brown rice, oats, beans, lentils, soy products, chickpeas, seeds, etc. Plus, only plant foods provide fiber and zero cholesterol. 🌱🍊🥬🫘🥜
