Hard Times consists of four duets: Loss, Return from Abuse, Depression, and Heartbreak.

Each duet contains a piece of fabric, which I call the veil of sorrow. It is worn in a different way in each duet to represent the different ways people process emotions.

My hope is for the audience to connect with and relate to these situations, and to bring kindness and tenderness into their everyday interactions with friends, family, and strangers.

In Devotion is an embodiment of Peace.

It shows us that when we live in reverence for the living things around us, Joy becomes contagious, Love becomes inevitable, and Community becomes the gift of a lifetime. We can create beautiful things together.

This piece is dedicated to anyone who has ever felt alone.

Let It Groove is intended to celebrate the raw essence of how dance makes me feel, and how music makes me dance.

Stripped of plot, characters, and theatrics, the choreography serves as a living self-portrait that combines years of rigorous training, physical scars, and kinetic joy into its absolute purest form. It is "dance on a stick"—a declaration that movement alone is more than enough to captivate an audience.

Hard Times is a tribute to my friends and family, whom I have had the honor of standing next to through some of their hardest moments. Please welcome Yusuke Otake to Nashville Ballet!

Yusuke joins us from Ishikawa, Japan. He began dancing at age 3 and has trained at Yokokura Ballet Studio, Tanz Akademie Zürich, and The Royal Ballet School.

Outside the studio, Yusuke enjoys drawing and creating visual artwork.

Please welcome Daniel Mendonça da Silva to Nashville Ballet!

Daniel joins us from Brazil, where he began dancing at age 6 and trained at Espaço Aberto Dance School and Petite Danse Dance School before earning a YAGP scholarship to continue his training at the Dutch National Ballet Academy.

When he's not dancing, Daniel enjoys cooking, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new places and art!

Please welcome Ben Moss to Nashville Ballet!

Ben joins us from Sydney, Australia. He began dancing at age 7 and trained at North Shore Dance Academy, The Australian Ballet School, Alegria Dance Studios, and Canada's National Ballet School before dancing with Sarasota Ballet for one season.

Outside the studio, Ben enjoys producing music, playing tennis and soccer, swimming, spending time outdoors, and cooking.

Please join us in congratulating Christian Arroyo on his promotion to Company Artist!

Originally from Freeport, Texas, Christian began dancing at age 8 and trained at Barbie Rhodes Dance Studio before continuing his studies at Houston Ballet Academy. After dancing with NB2, he joins us this season as a Company Artist.

Outside the studio, he enjoys trying new restaurants, creating TikToks, and playing video games.
