Happy Friday! 🥳 From our Mission Farmers; Keith, Doc, JRod & Jayme

A little recap of our farm week✨ we weeded beds in our teaching garden, harvested peppers, basil, sage & zinnias for The Store, we cut amaranth to dry for decoration at The Harvest Jubilee! Aaaand processed dent corn for cornmeal for one of our chefs to use!

Today we are weeding in our Teaching Garden where our Mission Farmers learned about Comfrey as a “chop & drop” plant. It accumulates minerals from the soil and when the leaves are dropped the soil around it gets enriched plus it acts as mulch! We love our expanding food forest on the farm!

We are so excited to announce the music line up for our annual fundraiser, The Harvest Jubilee!

Enjoy tasting dishes from 7 amazing local chefs each featuring a farm grown ingredient, live music all night and great community vibes🫶🏽

Old School Farm Pottery will be there giving a Raku Firing Demonstration for VIP ticket holders (limited capacity) the vases they create onsite will then be a part of our silent auction!

We took a huge sweet corn delivery to The Store & Doc brought some home for dinner with his family.

Our Mission Farmers love to eat what they grow. They get to share their hard work with their families and enjoy the harvest together knowing that other families are doing the same thing with our produce we took to the food pantries.

We are truly creating community out here every day as our team works together to grow food for families in need. We talk about life, Doc reminds us to notice the bugs, Jayme tells us trivia facts, Jrod keeps everyone on task & Keith asks a lot of good questions. It’s a beautiful place to show up to get our hands dirty together and do good work.

‼️On September 24th we want to invite you to our end of the year fundraiser event, Harvest Jubilee!

👨🏻‍🍳We are bringing together a crew of Nashville chefs who will each be creating a dish featuring a farm ingredient. There will be live music, a silent auction & a community of local food lovers. Chefs & music TBA ✨✨✨
