The Women Behind WiRE

In honor of Women in Construction Week, we’re celebrating the women helping build and support Women in Restoration & Engineering (WiRE).

Before the careers, the job sites, the board meetings, and the industry leadership… there were little girls with curiosity, big dreams, and no idea where life would take them.

Today, women make up over 14% of the construction workforce in the United States, a number that continues to grow as more women enter and lead within the built environment.

WiRE exists to help support that growth by empowering women in the built world through connection, mentorship, and opportunity across restoration and engineering.

Behind the website updates, graphics, webinars, and resources are women who believe in building something bigger than themselves: a community where women in this industry can support and elevate one another.

Sometimes the path into this industry starts long before we realize it.

Maybe it started with the little girl who loved to build things.
